Graciousness Under Pain

Let's be gracious enough to admit our mistakes.

Let's be gracious enough to forgive.

Let's be gracious enough to "move on".

If a picture paints a thousand words, this picture shows graciousness under pain.

As being 'gracious' was preached by the PM on National Day Rally 2008, what better way to show it than to lead by example.

The press conference to end the self-inflicted crisis was meant to be a finale to the Ping Ping Fiasco. Looking at their sad serious faces and body language, I think it pains them to do what they had to do at the show. For the sake of all in SSC and STTA, I hope there's no reason for an encore to their discomfort.

I'm happy to note that Dr Balakrishnan was gracious enough to mention the contribution of the past president, Mr Choo Wee Kang

I still wonder why the change of STTA president just before the Beijing Olympics?

As premeditated purchase of a silver medal is no cause for celebration for me, I hope that those who celebrate will continue to party to enjoy themselves.

If we can "move on" after Mas Selamat Jalan, "moving on" after PPF (ping pong fiasco)
is a piece of cake!

  1. That silver medal cost us millions. I hope we do not get short-changed in the end when China team B decides to call it quits and return to China. Then they may wake up, but I doubt they will.

  2. go back to China? Li Jia Wei already said she is going back to Beijing to study and play for her school there. Her parents are still in China and she is an only child. She should do the filial thing! I like the way she ticked off the ST reporters - that it was not the right platform to talk about this - fleeting moment of victory - hollow too considering the millions spent!

  3. Ordinary Singaporeans who blindly voted for the PAP should also be gracious to admit it was a big mistake. We ordinary folks share the same pain and misery and it is time for us to move on, yes that is right !
move on to another party !

  4. This episode only goes to show that to our leaders money can buy anything. Even national pride. I might not earn millions like them but I will not sell my honour for money and never will I buy glory with money.

  5. first Lee Bee Wah blamed the ST reporter Peh Shing Huei,...

then blamed Singaporean for misunderstanding her, so in effect her apology has no substance at all?! She is just stating "It's Your Fault!!"

haha, what a twisted tongue she has. How's that for a MP?
