Break Time

It been awhile. It been quite a long while since I last wrote.

Since my last blog, a book has been published. The condescensions in "Hard Truths" has hurt many. With the latest naked admission of being out of time and out touch, the truth must have hurt and the ego bruised! Some quit when they are ahead while others just refuse to let go.

Through this revelation of hard, half or what-you-may-call-it truths, we get to know the true essence of a man. If Tang Liang Hong was accused of being an anti-Christian Chinese chauvinist, would not another be accused of being a racist and an anti-Muslim chauvinistic pig trying to crack Singapore up?

It amazes me that a clever MP used the word "humility" to satirically describe stupid, contemptible, chauvinistic arrogance! Or was it plain sucking up to the Boss? In the words of another worse-case-scenario MP Mintster, "Hard Truths" is nothing but a "hiccup". Can you beat that? Maybe Lord Aston was right, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

They'll say what they say but they'll do what they do. And never will the twain meet. "Staying Together Moving Ahead" and "Do more for lower income Singaporean" were promises made in the last election. So they up the GST from 5% to 7% (to help the poor?) and up mintsters pay to millions!

It sucks to be poor but it is criminally despicable to be so rich and powerful that one can kill the Estate Duty Act to make the rich richer! Yes, they "do more for lower income Singapore". Or do they?

In this coming election, let's vote for honesty and integrity. Let's vote against arrogance, bribery, tyranny and contempt.

This is my last writing on this blog. I've gotten enough off my chest and I now need the rest.

Thank you for visiting.

  5. Mr Fish;

me wishes You all the best! And must say that i enjoyed your writings very much.

Like to suggest that You write a book that comprises of all your blog and comments if You like to and have it published. Me believe it will be well liked, at least Singaporeans should like it for the candidness and its' historical(politics) content.

'tian xia wu bu san te yan si', all gathering has to end, no matter how enjoyable. So, take care Sir, may You be always healthy and happy.

What the fish - very difficult for the voters to remember what you are advocating. Must make it easier for them to remember what they are voting for and what they should vote against.

    Let's vote against:
    Arrogance
    Bribery
    Contempt
    Dictatorship

    Let's vote for:
    Equity
    Fairness
    Graciousness
    Honesty
    Integrity

    See, easy for the voters to remember - vote against A B C D and vote for E F G H I

What is equitable may not be fair, and what is fair may not be equitable - hence both are included.

Sorry fish, tell me, what is the real difference between honesty and integrity?

  9. one thing for sure, LKY and son, including all their stooges will never understand what it means to have honesty or integrity...

simply put, a person who is honest tries to have integrity and a person who has integrity tries to be honest.

seriously Fish, i hope you will save your best for last i.e after the GE, whatever the outcome for singaporeans.

perhps you should consider compiling material from your blog into "101 reasons to stand corrected"

whatever your decision Fish, it has been a pleasure indeed!

  12. Take your break, but do remember that many have enjoyed your satirical portrayal of our rulers befitting the four legged species in George Orwell's 'Animal Farm'.

Take care of yourself, even though your heart has been lightened over the years of unloading your thoughts.

  13. Mr Fish, Guess you needed a good rest, but still unable to control the need to give them a good one, huh?
As election nears, we need more people like you to balance the propaganda and shit from MIWs and
    their MSMs.

  27. May be the abolishing of the Estate Duty Act, was no so much about leaving riches to the already rich descendants but probably to avoid the possible embarrassing situation that could arise when assessing the total dutiable estate assets of the rich, including those who were in pubic offices, and more so, for those whose entire wealth and income were derived (supposedly) entirely from public taxes !
