First, this is untrue, because it was WP that served notice to terminate AIM. After that AHTC asked for and received two extensions of time, until their own system was ready. The 2nd extension of 9 days in Sept2011 cost WP $420 - works out to appr $1400 for the whole month. But the cost for PAP TCs was $785 from Jan2011 to Oct2011, and $140 from Nov2011 to Apr2013. Why? It seems that AIM is saying F...U to WP.
Anyway why would WP ask to terminate their contract when they had not yet developed their own software, and then ask for 2 extensions? Sound logical Ms FU?
Well the oppositions can now openly say that they can weather all sort of problem that PAP left if they take over another GRC.

The PAP may be right in that WP initiated the termination request due to whatever reasons we are not privy to. AIM however made one mistake in listening to the legal advice to frame the letter as it is without making reference to the WP's request. Thus WP is technically correct in saying that AIM terminated the contract.

The full text of AIM's termination notice, dated June 22, 2011:
"We hereby give notice in accordance with Clause 9.3 of the Conditions of the above Contract that, owing to material changes to the membership of the Town Council, we will cease to allow Aljunied Town Council the use of the intellectual property and system functions relating to the developed application software currently used by the Town Council after a period of at least one month from the date of this notice.
"The provision of the developed application software will therefore be terminated with effect from 1 August 2011."
AIM opportunistically went ahead to terminate the services, and it stopped the service on 1st August 2011. But AHTC needed it for the whole of August! So "AHTC had requested an additional month, from 1 to 31 Aug 2011," and a 2nd extension "we would like to request the TCMS to be made available till 9 September 2011 for review purposes only".
Any damned fool reading the exchanges below will understand what happened, except the Papies and Ms F U who try to obfuscate, confuse and obstruct.
