One Lian Up, The Other Lian To Follow - Singapore Parliament

If PAP's candidate for Punggol East Dr Koh Poh Koon is "the son of Punggol", can I claim that my mother is the Queen of England?

Geez, there are ways to score points and there are ways to score points but "the son of Punggol" crap is just that. Crap! He lived in Punggol for 3 years after he was born and he becomes the "son of Punggol". And that is going to win him votes? So brudders, since we were born here, we are all "Sons of Singapore!" No?

Dr Koh was reported by CNA to have said, "The residents have to be practical and realistic - that you must choose to vote the person who can do the work for you. I think it's a fallacy to believe that you can have the best of both worlds - choose the person to make a statement but hope that the other person who's voted out is going to be having all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you." [Link]

This threat may be the death knell of Dr Koh Poh Koon as a politician! I do not know why Dr Koh wants to commit political suicide before he even started. Oh, lest we forget, he was asked to serve! He did not volunteer to serve.

He does remind me of Goh Chok Tong's threat of no upgrading for residents if they voted for anyone other than PAP. Did Dr Koh not learn that Singaporeans are no longer fearful of their bullying threats! And does he not know that Singaporean especially East Punggolites are sick and tired of being treated like duds!

If Dr Koh were voted in as Punggol East's MP, would he be "the person who can do the work for you'? I doubt so. He'd be too busy checking up the arseholes of his patients in Mount Elizabeth while outsourcing Town Councils work to AIM.

Saying "choose the person to make a statement but hope that the other person who's voted out is going to be having all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you" sounds bloody audacious to me. Is he saying only PAP has "all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you"?

I'm so glad that WP has decided to retain Lee Li Lian to contest in PE by election. [Link]  It shows a sense of loyalty which I'm sure members and leaders of WP are proud of. Apart from loyalty I do feel values like fairness, trust, integrity, dignity, honor and sanctity are displayed by WP in not replacing Li Lian as a candidate of Punggol East. "Gi Ki" in Hokkien says it all!

Unlike George Yeo and his Team who deserted their supporters and disappeared into thin air after their loss in Aljunied GRC, Lee Li Lian "assisted Aljunied MP Pritam Singh with his Meet the People Sessions in Eunos, acting mostly as his translator but also assisting with the preparation of letters of appeal, among other grassroots work." [Link]

Conditions seem right that we will have 2 Lians in our Parliament, Swee Lian (Sylvia Lim) and Li Lian. It will happen if we do not have contenders from other parties trying their luck to mess up a decent opportunity to have another alternative voice in Parliament.

I'm an optimist. I know that Dr Ang Yong Guan, Dr Paul Tambyah, Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, Kenneth Jeyaratnam and Desmond Lim are not idiots. They know that conditions will be right for them in the next General Election in 2016. Heaven forbids! None would want the infamy of being the Spoiler of 2013!

May Li Lian, Workers Party and Singaporeans celebrate again on the early morning of 27 January 2013.

How we  love to hear the people sing!

I don't know what to say of this PAP. Want to act smart and endup been dumb. I rather he say "I don't know what to say and stomp his feet".

By saying that, this PAP candidate forget that he is now reminding the voters that PAP is realistic , practical and pragmatic that has no compassion and humanity, which are the characteristics we know all along. Consider that this candidate is highly paid elite working in MountELi hospital known for charging high price, why should people vote for him to be charged high price for service of PAP ? Isn't PAP link to $$$$$ ?

"the person who can do the work for you.""

Voters should ask at what price you want this people to work for you. Since this guy is realistic and practical, do you think PAP will come cheap ? How about increase in constituency fee again ?

There is really no limit to daftness.

  2. And beside he holding so many appointments, will he have time for himself, let alone have time to attend to his duty as MP ? Is he still keeping his job in Mount Elisabeth and multiple appointment if he elected ?

Did PAP really understand that citizens in internet age no longer is so daft and gullible ?

  3. PAP's Dr Koh Poh Koon, Colo-Rectal Surgeon;

“The residents have to be practical and realistic – that you must choose to vote the person who can do the work for you ...."

I will only help you if you vote for me.
    Yeah, right.

To all Singaporeans who voted PAP in GE 2011.
So how have you benefited by voting PAP?

    HDB flats more affordable now?
    Car prices more affordable now?
MRT train ... no more breakdown meh?

Singapore assets belonging to Town Councils very secure now?
And will never be sold without Singapore President's knowledge and approval?

    For farks' sake.
He didn't even want the MP job in the first place.
    He was "called to serve."
    I certainly didn't call him.
    Did you?

Is he telling us his grassroots network is so good after being only a PAP member for a few weeks?

  4. Wah .. haven't even win a single vote, already "threaten" the people!!

    Very tough man!! Very PAP!!

TCH did a good job in training him.

Now, the only thing left is to tell voters that they must repent, OK? That will get you a Ministerial position in the future.

PS1: Don't let your hopes too high that KJ, SDP, etc will be rationale. You don't know what men of ego can do. We'll just have to ride it out. Hopefully voters understand that there's no free lunch in life (ie. SDP's "free" this, "free" that) and that a vote for a 3rd party is a vote for the PAP.

PS2 : Like you, I'm DELIGHTED that Ah Lian got selected by WP. Thats only fair.

  5. He should stop marketing himself as Son of Punggol as it is a insult to voters of Punggol. Make me want to puke. Such cheesy and mawkish marketing term make my hair elected and erected.

Hello, this is year 2013 not 1980s, so stop been cheesy. 40 years old still act like that, I don't know what to say.

  7. Extract from Bertha Harian's totally fictitious response from WP Low Thia Kiang to Dr Chee of SDP.

That doctor looks not bad. Can speak dialect and all. Some more heartlander, son of bus driver. But if he is the son of Punggol, I am the grandfather of Hougang.
    Sincerely,
    Low Thia Kiang
    Secretary-General
    Workers’ Party.

  8. PAP's Dr Koh Poh Koon,
    - a new PAP member
    - several weeks old only

So what can he do that Michael Palmer was unable to do?
    - Michael Palmer was a long time PAP member
    - A Speaker of Parliament no less

“The residents have to be practical and realistic – that you must choose to vote the person who can do the work for you."

Are you really sure these are not just empty words?
From a politician who is only a few weeks old?

How come PAP cannot find any other existing PAP member to be the candidate?
    Running out of PAP members?
Scrapping the bottom of the talent barrel ... and still cannot find?

  9. Arse doctor already made a few blunders talking nonsense through his own arsehole.

Such veiled threats that he uttered is going to cost him dearly. Yet to be elected, he will be just like the other PAP MPs who will vote yes to policies that will screw Singaporean's backside when he goes into Parliament. Familarity with arses is his specialty.

  10. Quote by Dr chopstick, "If you choose opposition, don't hope PAP will get work done for you..." stupid statement lah! Only e government of Singapore will get work done not e party lah. By default, PAP is obligated to form e government not party. I wonder where they get retards like Dr Chopstick to be part of the govt? What a langgar situation!

  12. We know about arse hole bandits. I'm sure you have heard of the term arse hole bandits? Mmmmm... this Dr Chopstick spending his last $11.50 on how many chopsticks to buy from Toyogo when he shifted to his new 5 room HDB flat having borrowed renovation money from his uncle instead of buying nasi lemak and using his hand to eat speak clearly of his intelligence?
If I'm left with $11.50, I will buy Indian curry rice and eat with my hand instead of spending the last precious $11.50 on how many chopsticks!
Now I wonder how or what he took for dinner having spent away his last $11.50? He shld know cuz it was his first day in his new flat. Maybe, he ate his wife's juicy abalone for dinner? No pun intended. Just my honest conjecture. Maybe, he could enlighten us. Since he's now a public figure and a potential MP, he shld clear our doubts right?

  13. Dear all,

The many interesting comments that I received on this particular blog lightened me up like no other!

    "Lian Lian How" 莲莲好!
Dr Chopsticks - nickname for Dr Poh!

And they tell me Singaporeans aren't emotional, not creative nor have a sense of humour?

Thanks folks for lightening me up!

Do do your part in the net, in coffeeshops and everywhere that we Singaporeans aren't daft. And we look forward to sing again in the early morning of 27th of January 2013:

Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of angry men
It is the music of a people
Who would not be 'chopsticked in the arse' again
When the music of the heart
Echoes the music of the drums
There is a life about to start
    When tomorrow comes!

Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of angry men
It is the music of a people
Who would not be threatened again
When the music of the heart
Echoes the music of the drums
There is a life about to start
    When tomorrow comes!

Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of angry men
It is the music of a people
Who would not be bluffed again
When the music of the heart
Echoes the music of the drums
There is a life about to start
    When tomorrow comes!

Where is the money going to come from?
For you to do the work you claim you can do for me?
From the sale of more town council assets to $2 companies?

Do we need to inform the Singapore President?
Do we need to get the Singapore President's approval?

not everyone is intelligent about everything, Dr Arse maybe expert for the bottom, he may not have much at his top.

$11.50 would have got them a filling meal at any coffee shop, hawker centre or at Macdonald.

  23. Dr Koh, if you claimed to be trully Punggol boy, what have you done for Punggol so far? Did you even contribute to any charitable organisation in Punggol? With your six figure salary (specialist in ME), what do you know the plight of people now aday. Don't tell us you were poor in your young age. Many went through the same period those days too. Sorry, you spin story don't work. Go back and do what you do best. Flush the shit out of the intestines. Don't do because someone asked you to. Have courage and self respect.

  24. Explaining why he decided to enter politics, Dr Koh Poh Koon said when he was called to serve, he felt "duty-bound to stand and be counted".

    Dear Dr Koh
    Please let me know if I am correct in completing your sentences for you as follows;

When he was called to serve PAP, he felt duty bound to Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
To stand and be counted among the PAP people.

If I am wrong, please post here and let me know. I apologize in advance if I have mis-interpreted you.

Kenneth and Desmond are two obvious spoilers of the show. I am more concerned that RP may do a personal attack on WP to further add insult to injury he created. Unfortunately these two clowns didn't get the message from voters - get out to avoid 4 corners fight. Thus you heard the boo-ing at the nomination center.

  30. Basically what the Doc is saying is equivalent to what the old hero was threatening the Aljunied voters, isn't it?

The PAP still hasn't learned their lesson that it is actually very arrogant for them to threaten voters in any way.
