And Every Mother's Child Is An Altruist!

Isn't it nice and cozy for Comfort Delgro to fook their customers (taxi passengers) by raising the taxi fares with all kinds of complicated and confusing surcharges? Oh, they are doing it with their hands on their hearts to improve the lot of their taxi drivers! Or are they?

If my memory serves me well, we were told that the increase in GST (was it 2006 or 2007?) to 7% was to help the less fortunate in Singapore. Surprisingly, the mintsters' salary were increased instead! Yes, it's as good as ministers were minting their own money!

It sucks when "holier than thou" leaders (political, taxi company management or whatever) use irreverent justification to achieve their selfish objective. Hey, I'm all for taxi drivers to have a better, more comfortable life! However, I'm also against scheming taxi drivers who "kheng" and hide themselves from passengers during "no surcharge" period. But I don't blame them. The may have learned 2 out of 3 from their NTUC Chief to be "faster and better" but not "cheaper"! Hell, 'productivity' may be a dirty word for some!

If ComfortDelgro cannot dazzle me with their brilliance in justifying the fare increase, they should not baffle me with the bullshit of demand and supply.

The reason why we are what we are in Singapore is due to the fact that the culture of 'kiasu', 'kiasi' and' kia chenghu' has been entrenched for too long. Until we are able to change, the "new normal" will be "same same". All the crap about being sorry for the misgoverment (housing & transportation woes, breathlessness due to overcrowding, etc.) is nothing but . . . crap! And the sucks continue . . .

Meanwhile, hopefully till the 2016 election, Embrace The Sucks!

In order to prevent a heart attack or end up with depression, you have to . . . Embrace The Sucks!

all the stuff u mention has nothing to do with the 3 Ks. its got everything to do with a total lack of integrity and honesty. these people are so full of BS that
they'v forgotten that a growing number of people today are smelling the stench.

meanwhile, the date of the next election is 2016, not 2006 as u'v written in your very understandable incredulousness at the sheer gall and illogic of the fookers you write about.

With the public transport "can t be help increase". And the charitable ntuc taxi company increasing the peak hour period and etc to improve the taxi drivers livlihood. Plus the high Coe. I think singaporeans should learn to run as fast as the African, then we will solve our transport woe. As far as I see cycling is also not so safe.

While, next best transport mode , Nike running shoes !

What do u think, mr fish ?

Timeline according to crystal ball:

15 Jan 2012: Other taxi companies also join in the fun, saying they also want to help increase drivers' salaries.

1 Mar 2012: All taxi companies declare the surcharges and fare increase to be a great success and drivers all very happy. With the increased salary and also to mitigate increasing costs (bonuses) at the taxi company HQ, all taxi rentals will go up.

When are COMMUTERS going to learn that the power is really in their collective hands -if only they would ACT AS ONE, IN ONE VOICE.

Try this, and I can virtually guarantee the message would be sent across loud and clear to those greedy S*Bs:

1. On every Monday or first workday of the week, boycott ALL TAXIS - jam pack the buses and trains. Include Fridays for even better effect, subsequently.

2. Take pictures of the jams and crushes and let it go viral on the Internet and Youtube.

The taxi companies would have their hands full dealing with the irate taxi drivers for coming up with a fat idea that strike at the heart of their livelihood. You must be CRUEL to be kind -to ourselves.

The bus and train bosses would be harassed dealing with the extreme crowding on their vehicles.

The management of other companies would be angry with the the transport companies and the transport ministry when their employees report late for work due to the crowding on buses and trains.

This would force the ministry and all the transport companies to cooperate/coordinate and to think twice about uping prices at the drop of a hat!

LONG LIVE THE COMMUTERS!!!

ComfortDelgro's CEO must be a blood sucker to tell us that the hours from 6~8am & 8pm~12 midnight shall be regarded as peak hours ?

The trouble is, who from which group of bloodsuckers or relatives are sitting on top of all these so-called Taxi companies, even Trade Unions, Consumer Associations or Case. And can we honestly expect them to look after consumer's interest?

Fat hope.

What have leeches, bed bugs and mosquitoes all have in common?

They are all bloodsuckers. They do not care a hoot about your sufferings. In fact, they rejoice in making us suffer.

Dear Anon of 12:42 AM,
Unlike someone who made a sweeping derogatory statement about the Malay/Muslim community and later said he "stand corrected", I appreciate your highlighting my error and I humbly stoop and correct my mistake. Yes, it should be 2016 and I agree with you that the BS from them stinks to high heaven! It's incredulous that we have yet to hear from 'altruistic' MPs and Mintsters on this issue.

Dear Anon of 10:39 AM,
I would love running as a mode of transport, However, the price of NIke is beyond me and the fumes from the exhausts of vehicles (cabs?) are not too kind to my lungs. I'm into barefoot running. Apart from being less costly, barefoot running has improved my posture and overall health. But the initial discomfort to the sole sucks and needs getting use to. Embrace the sucks? ;) Yes, but not forever! Though some would want us to as they condone silly policies to take care of themselves and theirs!

For Fook's sake, even if they have to choke it down our throats,, why can't ComfortDelGro simplify the fare structure by just increasing the flag off price instead of all the stupefying surcharges that's a mockery similar to PAP mintsters losing their integrity and making a laughing stock of themselves by paying themselves millions!

The source of the "Big Lie" technique is this passage, taken from Chapter 10 of James Murphy's translation of Hitler's Mein Kampf:

"All this was inspired by the principle--which is quite true within itself--
that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility;

because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily;

and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.

Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying."

—Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X[1]

The above is the answer to the question:

Singapore's 60%. Why? Why did you vote the way you did?
