We don't need no thought control

video
Warning: This post contains swear words. If you are offended by obscene words, do not read further.

There's a neat post here by KJ of TOC on Total Defence. "What will you defend"?

I've never thought of it that way but the way KJ describes it, I must agree that it's propaganda at its best. As I have been too poor to attend any school after my Senior Cambridge Cert (O level now) more than 40 years ago I'm shocked to read that brainwashing in schools has been going on the way they do. At my age, it's one helluva WOW to discover that instead of the little Red Book of Mao we have the Little Red Dot of . . . (fill in the blank) to brainwash the young.

So to keep the propaganda going, we are now asked by SPH to get personal "What will you defend?"

I asked a young friend serving full time NS if he'll defend Singapore and he asked, "How much?" I was shocked but amused. I went, "Huh?" He replied in typical NS lingo, "Fuck! If the PM and and his cheebye ministers are paid millions in aircon office to do fuckall, work with cheebye mouths, I defend for fuck?"

Having done my share of fulltime NS in the late 60's, I guess the frustration of guys doing national service remains pretty much the same. Likewise the way we speak when we are in green.

So, let's play the game.

What will I defend?

"I will defend my right NOT to be another brick in the wall."

My dear friends, what will you defend?

Pray tell.

I will defend my right to vote against this bloody PAP govt in the next elections, no amount of
incentives from them will change my mind.
Even sucking my banana to show remorse will not be good enough.
This bloody govt and their stooges are truly the enemies.

My 15 yr old son has to do NS even though he left Singapore when he was 9. He has made lots of friends here and doesn't see why he has to give up 2 yrs of being with his peers here and starting uni late. I tell him that it's a good way to get fit and to treat it like a gap year (or years). Sometimes wonder if we should just not bother stepping into SG at all...as some ex-Singaporeans have done. But we have relatives in SG and I don't want him to be a fugitive in the land he was born and where his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins are. So a 2 year boot camp for him is on the cards. NS done out of love for his country ? Heck! he loves NZ where we've emigrated to. He likes the NZ anthem "God defend New Zealand", feels proud when the All Blacks and Team NZ win(or not). He never understood Majullah Singapura and cannot remember friends that he had at primary 3. But for family's sake he will go back for NS. Am not giving him a choice....just becos he shouldn't be a fugitive in the land of his extended family...hope he finds something positive in the experience...

Feed Me To The Fish,
LKY, PM and HoJinx have demonstrated how to defend the country when screwup are made. That is quickly wash away the matter under them and throw it to someone else to fix the mess.

So if the country is in war, I will do what our idol do before. That is wash away the matter under us by migrating or going for holiday when Singapore is in war, and throw it to those subservient and patriotic, clueless chicken to do the defencing. And when war over, I will return to the country and tell whoever is alive that there will be 'More Good Years and Golden Periods'.

What is there left to defend?

Land - I don't own.

HDB flat - I am not the real bona-fide owner. I merely lease the flat from HDB for which I've paid out the 99-year of rent well in advance. Yes, don't be fooled, we're all leasees - not the owner if you care to read the fine print.

The country - overrun by PRs and FTs which have leeched, benefited and competed with us locals for scarce jobs. And these unwelcome pests have laughed and ridiculed Singaporean able-bodied males for doing their duty to help keep invaders and terrorists out. They think not having that reservist disruption to their daily job routines is swell and made them more valuable to employers. Yes, there are Malaysian PRs who think they're smart by keeping their Malaysian passports so they can earn in SING dollars and spend in Malaysian ringgit. Some males have come to Singapore since they started secondary-one schooling, went all the way to university, and never depart, but never took up Singapore citizenship. They're just 一脚两船 types and think that by retaining their PR status they have the best of both worlds and at the same time found that loophole to cunningly evade NS and reservist responsibilities. What leeches and tiresome pests they are. Yet, those nincompoopery Pappycock ministars think the world of them and sing their praises no end. Good grief!

My children - their futures are bleak and uncertain, and owning brick-n-mortar property is now getting harder by the day. When a HDB flat is being priced at $600,000 there is no way any family earning honest wages can finish paying off the mortgage and still left with adequate savings in the CPF kitty for retirement purposes. Screw the Papppycocks for tampering and meddling with the CPF contribution percentages as a form of fiscal management tool in years past. The CPF fund is my retirement nest-egg, remember the slogan?

So why do my kids have to serve NS for. I fervently wish that they would get a decent education here and then go settle overseas in a real democratic country with actual human rights and no muzzle on free speech. Just get out of this tiny red dot after they've got the paper qualifications. Don't waste their time with the 13-year reservist rubbish which their dad had to endure.

And do you know, females don't have to do NS and reservist duties. Since 男女平等 - why is this the status quo? Females compete with men for jobs here. Females here are an educated lot and many hold well-paying and powerful positions in this godforsaken country. They don't become subservient wives and stay at home to look after kids any more. Increasing numbers of females make it their personal choice not to get married and start a family brood. So I said, if males have the obligatory duty to serve NS just by being born here, likewise, the females born here have to do the same. In Israel, the women bear arms in defence of their country as well as the men - there you are. Some of their females could even expertly manoeuvre a Merkava battle tank.

But then, why do our males or females have to serve NS at all? Why do they have to fight a war to preserve their lot, their properties (if any), their constitution - what rubbish when Singapore Inc treated them like mere expendable economic digits when they're old and frail and even threaten to deport them out to JB shantytown retirement villages. Why when they're only paid a pittance to bear arms and sacrifice their lives if the need arises in war or battle. And why when the words of merdeka, of free speech, of free rights to assemble enshrined in our constitution diligently crafted at the time of The Separation is obscured by so much pig dung now.

It is really outrageous the way state corporations such as Singapore Inc. exploit the labor of the young for peanuts... placing them in the way of harm for pittance.

I found out the other day how much the incumbent member of the Lee Dynasty gets paid... its obscene. Talk about the corporate state.

But what about the BILLIONS his wife just lost the Singaporean taxpayer? What a joke of a democracy!

Here's part of the Press Release from the PMO ... "Specifically, in 2009, there will be a 19% fall in the annual salary of the President (to $3.14m) and the Prime Minister (to $3.04m). The Ministerial Grade (MR4) salary will fall by 18% to $1.57m, and salaries at the entry Superscale grade (SR9) will fall by 12% to $353,000. The allowance for Members of Parliament will fall by 16% to $190,000."

For getting an annual allowance of S$190,000 each, you must admit that the average Pappy MP did an extremely shoddy piece of job (and mind you, the sum was actually higher before that 16% cut). First, for getting S$190,000 each, the MP must put in a full-time shift and not just wayang around talking down sneeringly to lesser mortals. Secondly and most important, they should speak up for the rank and file of the electorate - about the (lack of) social welfare, inequitable NS treatment and the skewed burden of fighting off invaders shouldered purely by SGP males, the escalating loss of jobs to Pestilent Rats (PRs) and Fake Talents (FTs) coupled with the jobs meltdown in recent months, dwindling CPF balances and the inability to retire with sufficient funds and dignity in our homeland after being fleeced to pay for sky high-priced HDB pigeon-holes, and the threat of being deported to foreign settlement villages in old age when our economic values are deemed to be over.

If these swines cannot bring value and happiness into our lives, they should just resign en masse and let more capable and caring people who are willing to work for a fraction of the $190,000 allowance take over. Many of these swines have already made more money than they would ever need and to retire many times over.

The Boxers of the land should take note, some people are more equal than others. Your lifetime of silent obedience, stoic and uncomplaining conformity, and hard work only goes to benefit some select privileged elites - and not for the collective good as you've been blinkered and so led to believe.

Singaporeans are being taught to sing the National Anthem and to recite the Pledge. Nothing wrong with this except one great flaw which many don't seem to realise.
As citizens we are never taught the Constitution which spells out our rights in this land. The PAP govt had amended the original Constitution to their advantage and uses it as a tool against the citizens whom the govt is supposed to serve.

This begs the question as who are we defending? Our rights or PAP's?
