What Would They Not Do To Put Him In A Good Light?

Above are 2 full pages of Straits Times' song and dance on PAP's Dr Koh in Punggol East. If only they would dedicate as much space to the alternative political parties especially Workers' Party, Singapore and Singaporeans would be in a happier state of being! To let WP, RP and SDA share only one page at A9 shows the bias that so often is.

Of all the reports by ST on 19 Jan 2013, what caught my attention was the article on this 80-year-old lady. With due respect to Madam Saleha Mohd Shah and her good intention, I am reminded of the following video.

I'm sure the following questions will tickle the minds of many:
  1. Who initiated the move to get Mdm Saleha to speak on PAP's stage?
  2. Is Mdm Saleha a member of PAP? If she is why is she not in "white"?
  3. Was Mdm Saleha treated to a meal of 'nasi padang' before her appearance?
I think the good doctor is carrying his childhood sob story too far. Just what has kuning fish feeding seven members of his family and his poor mother eating fishbone got to do with:
  • AIMGate;
  • ministers' obscene salaries;
  • expensive public housing;
  • over-crowded trains and buses;
  • crazy importation of foreigners;
  • depressing wages and
  • high inflation ???

If this is the best that PAP and Dr Chopstcks can do to win East Punggolites over, I think WP will create another political first in Singapore. Having broken the world record of beating PAP in a GRC, WP will make history again by beating the ruling party in a 4-cornered fight!

If Dr Koh needs a 80-year-old lady to appear on stage to say, "He is not sombong (Malay for proud). He is no yayapapaya. He is very caring of the old, and touches old people's hearts", PAP must have lost the plot and are digging the bottom of the barrel to get some!

I'll be at Block 183C, Rivervale Crescent by 7pm tonight to de-stress myself, have a good time listening to reasons why we need more alternative voices in parliament rather than the same old same old worshipping of the Chopsticks Eating Kuning Fish!

  2. Haha.....

    By now, many Singaporeans would have witnessed for themselves how arrogant the PAP Candidate for Punggol East By-Election.
    He was indeed full of himself at the Rally, pointing his finger sharply and highly above his head. Now, we know why; he is assured of a political office. Another reason for his confidence and arrogance was obviously from the props from behind by DPM and Cabinet Members. But, those props are in shaky positions in the Next GE themselves. The DPM himself even failed to impress Pre U Level Students..

    Let us see if the PE Voters will be impressed by the 不可一世baby of Punggol.

  3. Dear Fish, I beg to differ from you about Spore having ''high inflation''. We don't. We have VERY high inflation.

    And Tharman is quite right about us lower mortals not feeling the 5% inflation. I certainly don't. I am feeling about 30% inflation...

    Looking forward to your report on the WP rally.

  4. If voters in PE buy the sob story, they must be mad. Looking at all the candidates, Ah Lian still the best. Go Ah Lian Go!

  5. You know what this reminds me of?

    Those NKF charity shows on tv quite a few years back, where they paraded those patients to garner sympathy from viewers. The celebrities also faked tears, hoping to induce people into donating money to NKF.

    The idiots who bought that nonsense from NKF will most probably also vote for the PAP this time.

  8. Well-said.

    And now LHL is chipping in too. Suddenly, Koh is "not just MP" material.

    Reminds me of : "And on the third day, the Lord sayeth ... and it was so". Suddenly Koh's talent to be more-than-MP is discovered. Suddenly, it was announced and it was so. The facts suddenly fit the narrative. Wah ....

    And makes me question - wasn't the previous MP, Palmer, also "more-than-MP" material? Heck, he was the Speaker, wasn't he? If even he could not fix Riverdale, transport problems, blah blah blah ... what makes you think Koh will be able to?

    PS : Pls do share how the WP rally went tonite. Dying to know ...

    1. If the Doc is MP-material, it also mean that none of those in waiting for years to be the next PAP MP is good enough, tio-Bo?

      The PAP has got to understand that they simply can' t bluff their ways through as it cuts both ways. Enough of all these lies, we are fed up with them. PAP really sucks.

  9. It is baffling for the Prime Minister to announce a political office appointment at this juncture for a yet to be elected candidate. What is the Purpose? Does a political office appointment benefits the constituents more than those without? What is the PM implying?

    Do the Punggol East Voters know?

    All Singaporeans would like to know too.

  12. PAP - MIW Joke
    ---------------

    A gay guy falls in love with a colo-rectal surgeon. He goes to the colo-rectal surgeon's office and says that he has an obstruction.

    So the colo-rectal surgeon sticks his hand up the guy's ass but can't find anything. However, he notices that the man has an erection, so the colo-rectal surgeon cuts short the examination and orders the gay guy out of his office.

    The next day, the gay guy calls the colo-rectal surgeon and claims he has another obstruction. The colo-rectal surgeon doesn't believe him but the guy claims he is in great pain, so the doctor relents.

    When the guy arrives, the doctor sticks his hand up the guy's ass again but this time he finds something. "Good God!" the doctor exclaims, "No wonder you're in pain. There are two dozen roses shoved up your ass."

    The gay guy turns around excitedly and says, "Read the card! Read the Card!"

  13. Singapore Democratic Alliance party chief and Punggol East candidate Desmond Lim has corruptly influenced and contravened subsection (3) of sections 58(a), 58(b), 58(c) and 58(d) of the Parliamentary Elections Act (CHAPTER 218) by directly paying for the expenses of hired workers for the purpose of inducing that person or any other person to attend or remain at any election meeting,and for the purpose of corruptly influencing that person or any other person to vote or refrain from voting in a otherwise free election mandated by the Parliamentary Elections Act (CHAPTER 218). It is the duty of the Election Department to safeguard and ensure a corrupt free and independent election.

  15. During GE 2011, PM Lee also said that Ong Ye Kung was "ministerial material", so why didn't PAP field him at Punggol East by-election???

    So, ONg Ye Kung suddenly not qualified to be a minister?

  16. ST tries to put him in good light, but what he said makes him look like he cant think 2 steps ahead. Take his chopsticks story. He said he only had $11,and spent all of it on chopsticks. Bet you after buying the chopsticks then he realised he don't have money to buy food. Stupid right ? What can he do with chopsticks without food ? Just like how they brought in loads of foreigners, and then suddenly realised we dont have enough housing for all of them !We dont need more of such cock-ups !

    ReplyDelete
  17. If he becomes health minister, I can almost predict the next major cock-up. He will say we need more hospitals & start building hospitals all over the place. When completed、he will suddenly realize that we do not have enough doctors & nurses to run the hospitals !

  19. FRom the start we should suspect that a doctor earning maybe in the tune of $100,000 a month is unlikely to work as a MP earning less than $15,000 amonth. So to get him PAP must have promised him millions. You tell me. Is he really to serve the people in PE or taking a bigger role as minister? Answer is very clear right? What do you think?

    So that voters will be mightily cheesed off and vote that good-for-nothing bugger out so as not to waste millions in salary.

  21. By saying that a candidate is of certain minister quality,is an attempt to influence the actions of (a person) the voter by means of exerting such unfair pressure which tantamount to an emotional threats - that by not the selecting a pap candidate, the country would lose a potential minister.

    This is very unfair to a voter. It is an emotional harassment.

    We have never heard of such a thing in matured democracy like in UK or recent US elections.
