More Singaporeans Should Be The Ripples That We Are!

Robert F. Kennedy said, “Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

I'm still out of Singapore and out of sync with the latest development at home due to my kampong break (chill out?) and limited access to internet. I have some wifi time now and I'm delighted to share my thoughts.

If PM Lee Hsien Loong and President Tony Tan did not and do not intend to reply to Hazel Poa's request for the PM and President to call for a referendum on the 6.9M, it shows the contempt they have for the people. After the protest at Hong Lim Park on 16 Feb 2013, do they not realise that Singaporeans are very sick and tired of the current over-crowdedness and that we are very unhappy with the "no hue" = "can't be bothered" attitude of the PAP government?

Some say, "Life's a bitch and then we die." I do not agree. I believe, "Make Life Joyful and then we go to a better place." It can be joyful if we do what's right and honourable even if we are not rich or powerful. It is most joyful if we do our part to help the future generation to have a better life. The joy is overwhelming if we stand up against injustice and overcome fear to unite as one people to truly build a democratic society based on justice and equality. For the sake of our children and our children's children, we must continue to enlighten as many Singaporeans as possible of the scary future that is coming our way. To get them to energize with us to create waves out of ripples to bring forth a Singapore that takes care of all Singaporeans and not, I repeat not, only the PAP elitists and the rich and famous!

By not solving the current infrastructural screw-ups and having the audacity to blatantly announce and proceed with the "6.9M Import" is to rape Singaporeans not only in the 69 position but also anally and orally. Yes, its 3-in-1 and they think they can do anything they like as if they are God's gifts to Singaporeans!

Sedikit sedikit lama lama jadi bukit. That is what Robert F Kennedy said it in English,
“Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
― Robert F. Kennedy

My friends, my dear fellow Singaporeans, we cannot let the current uncaring government walk all over us with their hubris and disregard for all of us. We must continuously enlighten our fellow citizens of the predicament we are in so that with unity and numbers, we can improve ourselves to fear not the PAP government so that we can make Singapore a better place not for the elitist PAP and their cronies but for all Singaporeans regardless of race, language or religion to build a democratic society based on justice and equality.

  1. CPF should return back to withdraw methods of the previous system of 55 years old, many people thought they can invest their own money, but the rule change, now it is unlikely in their lifetime able to get back their own money?

It is people hard earn money, people had the right to decided how to use it as they like, they are old enough to handle their own money, many are thrifty know how to use their money, putting in the bank is better then putting in CPF which you had little chances of taking it out in your their lifetime, which the will increase the retirement age raise until 68 years, even that every month you can only get few hundreds dollars, how many of them can live until 68 years, it should given the person option to withdraw as they like or they want to put in the CPF to get higher interest then the bank, it should be up to individual to decide, some individual may have good investments skill and get much higher returns then putting their money in the CPF should be allow to withdraw their own money to invest on themselve and get higher returns?

If the person consistently can proven they can earn more then 10 percent on their own money, they should be allow to withdraw their money by 55 year old the previous system, rather put inside the CPF to earn around 3 percents, it fair to the person who need funds to invest, and to take out their own money from CPF to invest?

Why should it be kept in the CPF, it is good for the government that the person has the abilities to get better returns withdraw their money then putting in the CPF? And the government happy to let the person to manage his own money?

  5. CPF used to be able to withdraw at 55, as originally set out, now changed to 62 then 65 and 68, only give monthly few hundred dollar allowances?

For certain type of people, that can't handle well, don't allow them to handle their money is reasonable?

But those who can manage well their, money should be allow to withdraw their money to manage it themselves, so that he or she don't need of thinking to emigrate, then to be able to withdraw their money?

CPF should reconsider to allow some people who has consistent good track record, of able to beat the market or much higher then their 3 percent returns , to allow the persons to withdraw, this is a fairer system?

To one size fit all is a brunt instrument, that curtail creativity?

How about some who excelled in investments need the money to invest?

Should gave back this type of persons the money on 55 years old as promised early, when they create CPF originally, widen the options available, that allow people to withdraw the money not only through emigrating only?

The reasons to delay or alter the rules, is worry about people overspent or spend all their money and don't have sufficient money to spent later part in their life, this can apply to those persons, who don't know how to manage well their money?

If the person proven can manage well his own money, let him withdraw the money as originally the CPF was set up, it will create value for the economy and Singapore and later create jobs, self -sufficient and not burden to Singapore, but he must be proven he have a good track record of managing well his money for at least a few years?

This in turn encourage creativity, innovations and entrepreneurships etc?

  6. The first step for getting your CPF money back at 55 years old is voting Opposition in GE 2016.

  7. The ground sentiment seems shifting from the Presidential Election???

Tony Tan one of their very best, who has massive support and endorsement from the ruling party got only 34 percent vote, he could be PM if he want, with the massive support from the MSM and massive endorsements from many clans and business assocciations? Can only get 2 percents vote ahead of his next rival Tan Cheng Bock, many MP were surprise why he want to put himself up for the post of President as he was not endorse by the ruling party?

Tan Cheng Bock said if he was elected want his office to be separated from the PM, leaning more and more towards the oppositions? He used to be one of the very best too?

Tan Jee Say who was relatively unknown new comer got 26 percent.

And Tan Kin Lian the outspoken one got 5 percent.

With the recent PE elections, seem like the support dwindling further and further, like kept dropping from a good margin of + 15 percents dropped to minus ten percent, the voters seem to know who to vote and the other 2 opposition got only 1+1 percents, previous 2 year ago in the GE SDA from 4 percent drop to one?

In 2011 election the ruling party, the performance improved in SMC which they got an extra SMC, this recent performonce is a heavy blow and performing worse in a GRC, lost a GRC which never before?

Could the kept importing of foreigners and importing new citizens kept reducing and reducing the support and other policies?

Could be due to the old supporters more and more died and new young supporter who are tech savvy able to vote?

The indication seem like certain policies are not right? With this massive dilutions of support?

  8. If the compound rate returns if he able to make 20 percents returns on his $100k per year is $1,069,932.05 after 13 years, if base of the previous policies, which you able to take out his CPF at 55?

IF he invest on his own, which he master investing, rather then put in the CPF now, which unable to take out from retirement age raise from 55 to 62 to 65 to 68, only give you a few hundred per month when you reach this age?

If you put it in the CPF you can only get around 3 percent per year?

    ReplyDelete
  9. If he is so good in making returns, why not sell himself to TH/GIC and help fellow singaporeans to earn better returns in their cpf. No one can beat the market except the rulers themselves. They know when to go in and out of a markets, do you?

  10. Singaporeans used to be uncaring but now singaporeans are more active. THey start to realise that if they want a better singapore, they have to play an active role and vote more opposition to dilute absolute power that corrupts absolutely. The future lies in the hands of singaporeans not foreigners. Judging from the 'mistakes' pap made, i doubt it will remain as a dominant party in ge2016 unless something fishy happens.

Set up a committe to study and make recommendations on how to improve the operations of the SME?

And gather feedback from local workers on how to improve the operations of SME?

Should more courses conduct to develop bosses of the SME?

Many SME are traditional family run business relying on cheaper and cheaper foreign workers.

Foreign consultants to come to Singapore to train and develop local SME on latest technique how to bring out the best on their local worker through multi-tasking,job rotations, career improvements, increase the worker output, efficiency, productivity ,innovations gathering more feedbacks from their workers etc?

Could spend more money traning the bossses of SME to develop the workers more effective, then handouts?

Should more foreign consultants engaged to train local bosses to train and better manage their local workers, to reduce wastages, which a important contribution to companies profits, if you reduce wastage you increase your companies profits, reduce the time in doing a task, how to innovate and make better products and services, find ways to reduces overall cost other then looking for cheaper and cheaper foreigners. There is many ways of reducing cost, which don't affect the workers moral. Train the workers in mastering more skills, more effective in the jobs, co operation, the works and rotate them around to understand different departments running? Train local workers to give feedback of improving the companies operations like Apple and Google?

Workers can make many discoveries and advance and make a huge impact on the companies bottomline if they are motivated and happy like Apple and Google?

Train the local SME bosses on how to used technologies , automations and innovations to less reliance on cheaper and cheaper foreign workers?

  16. Recent Punggol East by Election 2013, show the increasing sophistication and more discerning of the electorates?

The new citizen votes with some policies that will affect their future and their children futures?

Out of 4 parties, the electorates know the person who best represent their interest? As a SME can show clearly the level of support of each candidate and the internet able let them to do reserch?

43 percents to the ruling party, 54 percent to WP, less then one percent each for SDA in 2011 election which got 4 percent, and RP one percent?

It is very demoralising for the ruling parties after they all out spend so much effort for and a swing of a staggering 25 percents of votes. This indicated their foreign workers, immigrantions or CPF policies might not work,as more and more new citizens coming in the votes and their votes kept dropping?

The chances of a freak election get higher as time pass?

Those borderline co.y. GRC like TP, which LKY likely, will not be aroundm, to give his votes to the new and possible weak MP, which he used to have 80 percent votes last time, and mostly all walkovers, East Coast GRC with LSS foreign workers policies, MP Co.y GRC & Bishan- Toa Payoh Co.y. GRC

50-50 percents chances of going to the oppositions? With more professionals joining the oppositions, gone are the days where opposition will take any one or the less educated, now they know and more professionals will to come forward as they know they has a higher chance of been elected like Chen Snow Mao?

Should the opposition like RP and SDA merge so that they don't waste they deposit as voters getting more and more tech savvy and less and less use MSM?

More younger tech savvy voters, coming up to votes and older supporters of the ruling party died? Should the foreign workers, immigrations and CPF policies be review again?

And the need for a less expensive government, like the Nordic countries and can government better with 10 times less salaries, effective, so that the is less need to import new citizens and the less need to import cheaper foreign workers that can affect their future and their sons futures?

The multi - parties systems like the Nordic countries be the norm of the future elections, which in turn lower the cost of government, the Nordic countries ministers 10 times less costly then our ministers pay? In turn reduce the need of more foreigners workers and new citizens?

    ReplyDelete
  20. People feel that the Nordic system got higher taxes, but our system got indirect taxes like COE, ERP,GST & Levies and other taxes, importing more people drive up cost etc.

The Nordic system their government is 10 times less expen$ive to run, therefore those savings can be better allocate to fund, to reduce the birthrate and help the old age?

Their successful mature multi-parties parliament systems, diversify their talents and share the burden of government?

They don't need to use much foreign workers, as the jobs Singaporean shun, all done by their locals as all the jobs shun by Singaporean the pay is relative high, and they don't need to import new citizens, which is a heavy drawback for $Ingapore?

The taxes are higher, but their pay at the low end job like cleaners, construction workers & waiters are much higher a few thousands dollar a month. All those taxes are given back to the workers, when they are temporary out of jobs, health heavily subsidised, free education, retirement benefit etc.? Therefore their birthrate are high, don't to complete much with foreigners?

The has a high standard of living, low wages disparity, high birthrate, their workers are highly productive, highly innovative and their designers are work class?

/// The aim of Singapore is to improve the profits of companies, so that they can improve the wages of the bottom 20 percents of the workforces, ///

    Another PAPig "trickle down" sycophant.

    Yes.
The aim of PAP is to improve the profits of companies.

Will the increase profits "trickle down" automatically to benefit Singaporeans?
Let's ask SMRT and former CEO Saw Phaik Hwa.
Record SMRT profits during her tenure as CEO.

Did the benefits of the "increase profits" trickle down to the commuters and SMRT employees?
    ANSWER:
    - First bus strike in years
    - $1.1 billion dollar government subsidy to buy new buses
    - first fire in SMRT train station
    - frequent train breakdowns
    - wood falling onto train tracks
    - at one stage, cheap 20 cent plastic ties was the only thing that kept our trains running

It is the companies' job to make record profits.
It is not the companies' job to improve the wages of the bottom 20%.
It is the govt.'s job to improve the wages of the bottom 20%.

YSL and MP case was discovered by internet, so most will not corrupt, so no reason to pay them 10 times the pay of Nordic countries ministers, as the Nordic countries are highly successful, low inequality, high birthrate, high quality of life, high birthrate & highly innovative? If they can govern with this amount why not Singapore?

Our government pay should be adjust to around slightly more about 10 percents above the pay of Nordic countries, which is more reasonable?

They had a good system for us to learn from, multi-parties, reasonable cost systems to maintain, yet efficient? Diversify the talents? An insurance against any mistake from single party system?

Many foreigners marvels at Singapore success, but they don't know Singapore success is build on ever increasing populations of foreigners, from 2 millions now aiming to 7 millions, the bottom layers more and more are living in hands to mouths existences, with ever more cheaper foreign workers from third world to take away their jobs and depressed their pays?

And look at the mess they have brought us.
This is a well proven formula for continuing disaster in Singapore.

It's time we voted in Singaporeans who truly represent our values.
We can always hire foreign talents/experts from United Nations to help us formulate better policies for Singapore.

It's not as if existing PAPig policies have been very successful.

Why the Danish, Finnish, Swiss or the New Zealander don't pay 1000 percents of the ministers' pay of Singapore because it need lots of indirect taxes, and there is a limit you can tax them, 1000 percent not 10 or 20 percents of the equivalent pays, it is a staggering amount, imagine how much indirect taxes need to collect to pay this ten time at the amount of taxes? You need how many cheaper foreigners or foreign workers to come in the pay this types of taxes?

  57. This is the brother of Mr Fish with a piece of bad news. This is his last post. Mr Fish visited the kampong of his dreams as described in the last 2 posts, and has moved on to a better place where there are no more heart pains. I quote from the blog above," Some say, "Life's a bitch and then we die." I do not agree. I believe, "Make Life Joyful and then we go to a better place." It can be joyful if we do what's right and honourable even if we are not rich or powerful. It is most joyful if we do our part to help the future generation to have a better life." Unquote. So thank you Brother, you have done a lot for nation building, with your incisive write up, humour and tireless efforts putting up youtube videos to share the joy of our democracy. We have enjoyed this journey together.

The family wants privacy and would continue to prefer the anonymity. Do post your condolences and messages here for Mrs Fish, children granchildren and his extended family.

God bless you Mr Fish. You have run a good race with your second life. See you on the other side :)
