Sorry, it's my bloody fault.
All they do is just talk their way out of any situation. No matter how condescending, unreasonable or dumb they sound, as long as they are elites connected to the obnoxious power that is, they get away with it.
Some recent examples . . .
The Fixing of the Opposition - Town Council Management Report:
It happens. While trying to score some election winning (fixing) points to show how great they are in town management, they end up shooting their own foot by not being thorough in their self-serving bullshit. In pap smearing PAP, Grace Fu has done much in providing more entertainment than the French Soccer Team in South Africa. In so doing, she has hurt her credibility and inflicted more pain to PAP than 7-0 scoreline that *Maradona and his Argentinians did to the North Koreans. In her exchange with WP's Low Thia Khiang, she kept screwing herself, goal after own goal until she was put to silence, not being able to answer anymore to Low's query of fund allocation.
But Ms Fu countered yesterday that "Mr Low is using the TCMR to pursue his political objectives". [todayonline Link] Wow! Can you beat that? Who started the report anyway?
So the "Buying & Fixing" has begun. My friends in the Civil Service just enjoyed the mid-year half-month plus $300 Bonus. It's heartening to note that some said, "Haha, we can enjoy the bonus and still vote opposition." Is this why the PAP need to "fix opposition and buy votes" through new citizens? [Link]
Singapore's Security In Graffiti:
Since WKS was not responsible for Mas Selamat's magic carpet ride to Johor, definitely nobody with PAPower is accountable for the beautiful artwork created at the protected area of MRT train depot at Changi. While SMRT honcho Ms Saw Peck Hwa is the only one who regrets, I just love the finger pointing by the Law Minister doing his best in the classic art of Tai Chi and kicking the backside of Ms Saw while she's down. Or was the whole thing was another wayang? We'll never know.
So who is responsible for the security? SMRT? Temasek? Ministry of Finance? PAP Gahmen? All I know is the artistic perpetrator or perpetrators is responsible for the artwork while Mas Selamat Jalan is responsible for walking out. Where security of Singapore is concerned? Gosh, who knows! Of course, regardless of flood, terrorist escape, graffiti or anything that may go wrong in Singapore, daft Singaporeans must be responsible for being complacent. So decreed Dear Mentor after Mas Selamat Jalan (walked) to Johor. In other words, its my bloody fault. It's never theirs!
Well, I'm glad that at least someone here [Link] is holding those responsible responsible.
One in a Million . . . Once in 50 Years:
The Flood! at Orcahrd wasn't the deal. The foot-in-the-mouth response from the honcho of PUB and the Mintster of Environment was what took the cake! Can anyone believe that PUB was complimented for a job well done by Mintster Yacob for the creation of the flood and filth at Wendy's and the basement shops of Lucky Plaza! "The minister also said the response by PUB and other agencies has been commendable, as they did their best to help the businesses and people affected." [Link] Oops . . their job to help? I thought it was their job to prevent the flood.
I think Dear Leader of North Korea and President Sarkozy of France would have more bragging rights to compliment their World Cup Soccer teams. Yes, even President Silvio Berlusconi is dying to congratulate his Italian soccer team for the great feat of being whacked by Slovakia 3-2 kicking the World Champion of 2006 to the bottom of the group and out of the World Cup of 2010!
The quality of leadership, not unlike silverware in sports, if bought with money is never worth the value it's paid for. With all the highfalutin' crap like our womenfolk will end up as maids in other countries if our mintsters are not paid king's ransom; when surgeon harped about the loss of personal income to become a Bargain Mintster; I am truly amazed by the quality of leaders shown thus far. The latest awkward performances (and non-performance) of the band of self-serving politicians say it all. The obscene salary only serves the need of the greedy and makes a mockery of national service and nation building.
It is so sad that they just STFU or practice Tai Chi when leadership in action is urgently needed.
"The buck stops here." said Harry Truman. In Singapore, the buck simply get lost along the way. Hopefully forgotten, they hope.
Shit happens, let's move on :)

*Add on:
Ooops .... I've got it wrong. It's Portugal, not Argentina, who scored 7-0 against North Korea.
Thanks to Fievel for highlighting my mistake.
I'm sorry, it's my bloody fault. And I mean it.

oh shit - any flood this morning.
Welcome back Fish.
=) It was the Portuguese that beat North Koreans 7-0
Thanks Fievel,
I stand corrected.
Sorry, it's my fault.
feedmetothefish.
That's the way to go - accept responsibility, apologize, and move on.
Btw I have just quoted you somewhere else, hope you don't mind. Buy you a coffee or lunch someday.
If an engineer were to allow for a 1 in 50 years failure to occur in his engineering design, the engineer should be fired.
But the problem is ENV Minister is not an engineer but a politician. Politicians always try to bluff their way if they can. That's what he did.
But the 2nd time it happened, he knew he couldn't bluff anymore so he left it to his engineers to bluff their way.
This is the so called PAP brand of meritocracy - bluffing all their way right from the top.
Did they know, that we know, that they have been bluffing all the time?
When one of them feign loss of memory, by saying that he could not remember such a thing happened, I was wondering, how could he suddenly loose his memory of such an important event?
Then I understand. They are playing another new ball game of ignoring things that they could not counter.
nice one Mr Fish !
for sure it's not your fault N Korea let in 7 goals.
But for sure, it's the fault of Sporeans who keep voting the MIW into parliament.
Nevertheless I hope to witness the MIW declaring they were caught offguarded by the way Sporeans voted.....
Mr Fish, I don't mind being caught offguarded IF our Sage finally comes to his senses and declare,
how did I end up with a useless son?
who are those clowns in parliament?
why so many clowns in my govt ?
what the heck is going on?
damn! it's my bloody fault!
fish,
it was reported LKY rated himself an A to A- for his contribution to Spore's financial industry.
i wonder how he rates his daughter-in-law Ho Ching ?
i believe the Thais will give Ho Ching a A*** for her contribution to Thailand.
He rated himself or he over-rated himself?
The one thing that he most over-rated is his incompetent son who, like the father, over-rates hisself.
PM Lee says - Don't expect flood free Singapore.
Don't expect Govt to secure the MRT lines.
WE should say - then don't expect bloody $3mil pay!!
enough crap
Yes, its our bloody fault for keeping them in power, despite all the screw ups and the most highly paid pathetic leaders
Nothing sound silly from the PAP. They are the only people who can say thing like "we don't know this will happen." if u are arrest for anything. try using the same word in court and c what happen.
Maybe just maybe PAP stand for "push away problem." That why no problem get to them.
