As much as I have been vocal and resentful of the arrogance of PAP leaders, especially that of Lee Kuan Yew, I have to give credit where credit is due. From the video below, we can see the difference of a man who 'was' and the man who has 'become'.
It's old (as in long, long ago) and it's 52:48 long but you'll be thrilled by the presence of familiar political faces and the hard facts from the man who was! His take on Goh Chok Tong's responsibility in locking up Vincent Cheng and so called 'Marxist Conspirators' and on religion and ISA is worth the time spent watching this video.
Today, we hear from new Education Minister, Heng Swee Keat talking about review of Mintsters' salary. Immediately after, PM Lee announced that a "Salary Review Committee" will be headed by Gerard Ee. If PM Lee is sincere in this project, he should co-op Low Thia Kiang, Chiam See Tong and even Nicole Seah to sit in the committee! Please not a 'wayang committee' filled by a bunch of 'what's-in-it-for-me', ball-less, 'fear-of-MIW' yes-men who are more concerned about their own well-being than that of Singapore!
Times - they are a'changing! As a 60-year-old-born-and-bred Singaporean, I have never been more exhilarated than on the early morning of 8 May 2011. With the 40% of votes going against PAP and the ascension of WP gaining 6 parliamentary seats through GRC in Aljunied and SMC in Hougang, I, my children and my children's children can look forward to a "Singaporeans' Singapore" instead of a repressive "PAP Singapore"!
If not for the brave, 'tak bolen tahan' can't-take- it-anymore 40% who voted for dignity, self respect, democracy and the good of Singapore, those millionaire ministers would still be resting on their laurels and treating us like dafts and kicking spurs on our butts as and when they like.
40% have voted with this message: "All I want to say is that they (PAP) don't really care about us!' [Link] & [Link] As much as we have heard from PAP so far, let's hope there won't be a repeat of 2006's sham of: "Let's Raise GST to help the Poor (Increase Ministers' Salary)".
Is it time for us to see SINCERITY replace ARROGANCE and SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS in PAP? Are we there yet?
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and if they don't learn now, they never will.
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have pricked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

"Beat me, hate me You can never break me Will me, thrill me You can never kill me chew me, sue me Everybody do me Kick me, kike me Don't you black or white me
All I wanna say is that They don't really care about us All I wanna say is that They don't really care about us
Tell me what has become of my life I have a wife and two children who love me I am the victim of police brutality, now I'm tired of bein' the victim of hate You're rapin' me of my pride Oh, for God's sake I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy... Set me free"
I share you views about the salary review committee, that will be looking into minister's salaries, being headed by Gerard Ee.
Nothing much will come out of the committee if it is made up of the same kind of people that sit on the 'Panel of Presidential Advisers' or the farce committee that deliberated on the Mas Selamat escape.
Needless to say, since they think 60% of Singaporeans still love wayangs, they will stage wayangs for their sake.
Shows that Goh Chok Tong had been absolutely out of touch with what was going on as he famously said just 3 weeks ago that the majority of people don't care about ministers' pay! I am disappointed that the scope of the review is limited only to ministerial pay, and not the pay of top civil servants, who easily gross over $1 million a year and also get pensions. Ditto, the President's pay of $4.28 million is ridiculous and indeed has been ridiculed by a majority of people. Isn't that due for review and reduction?
The fact that the opposition managed to attract so many talented individuals should put to eternal rest, the fallacious argument that we need fabulous salaries to attract people to come forward to serve.
This leads me to wonder whether this is the reason why the PAP is so worried about talented people joining the opposition on the cheap, so much so that they must think of ways to discredit or make sure they will be painted by the MSM as unsuitable to serve. In this way, their fallacious argument will not be demolished to reveal the hard and ugly truth.
But again, I believe that Heaven really has eyes, giving us this opportunity to see, with our own eyes, that there are still talented people joining the opposition and definitely not for the ridiculous and absurd rewards.
Some have even sacrificed their rice-bowls and taken the risk to be counted on to come forward. I salute them and I support them unquestionably. So does the brave 40% who voted for them.
Fish, the impact would have been alot greater if 40% votes actually translated to at least 30 seats in parliament. Like you, I am also grateful to the 40% but more so to those contesting against the PAP.
At the end of the day, it appears the 60% condone those who are cheats, liars and thieves. Sadly, this in turn will attract like-minded FTs/PRs.
What ever salaries they are dished out by the Fat Uncle, no one can protest - right, but one thing is for sure they cannot erase the 'hate agenda', and they do not have the respect and the moral authority any longer. One word stands out 'Pariah'
I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
The double speak, the hubris that I get from the power that is especially the leeders irks me no end.
The balls carrying sychophantic mainstream media suffocate me. I can hardly breathe.
Some say I may get radicalised, but fortunately, the alternative news and views that I get from internet keeps me sane.
The ability to write in this blog gets the elephant off my chest and helps me breathe easier. It lightens me up!
When it's all said and done, just feedmetothefish.
With my crazy writing, my children and the greatgrandma of my granddaughter worry that the "legal/factual" big stick will come after me for being radicalised or for being ridiculous:)
Hopefully, the fish will get me first:)
Thank you for visiting.

I predict a 10 percent cut in ministerial salaries
Anything less than 50%, they might as well forget about any reduction.
