I Worry For My Grandchildren

In the year 2030, my grandson will be doing his National Service (if it still exists by then). His elder sister, my grand daughter, will be in the workforce.

I read of the White Paper that PAP government is aiming for a population of 7 million (give or take 100k) in Singapore. Why it is tabled to be discussed in Parliament is beyond me. Instead of talking cock in parliament of how many people we need in Singapore, why can't the millionaire ministers shut the fook up and just get the work done! No, not to hit the target of 6,900,000 but get off their butts to solve the current problems of:

1. public housing not enough
2. mrt trains not enough
3. buses not enough
4. roads not enough
5. hospitals and beds not enough
6. polyclinics not enough
7. places in schools and universities not enough
8. jobs for Singaporeans not enough
9. money not enough (to catch up with inflation)
10. happiness not enough

because of their reckless importation of foreigners without a thought to the damage they created.

With the current 5.3 million people in Singapore, I already find it hard to breathe. People, people everywhere. Rushing here, shoving there. In the trains; the buses; parks; shopping malls; on the roads; by the pavements; in the open fields! Wherever I am in Singapore, I'm never in Singapore. With the people that I see and the voices that I hear, I'm either in China, India or in Philippines. Never feel like I'm in Singapore. Occasionally, I'm in Thailand, Burma or Vietnam. As one human being to another, I have no dislike for people from these countries. It is the PAP government that I resent for stealing Singapore from me and my loved ones.

There is so much talk about how the increasing population and the importation of foreigners help the economy, the GDP and growth of my country. I'm a Cambridge Certificate boy (O level not degree like what the PM has double) and I do not understand. If there is growth, why are we not feeling it? Instead of growing, we feel like shrinking. To nothingness. Being born and bred in Singapore, I feel I'm being violated by a government that cares for its longevity in wealth and power without any regard for the common people who contributed so much to this nation. 

It is a shame that as much as PM Lee tries to project the image that he is on the side of Singaporeans, he is not. Maybe his cronies and rich elitists may perceive him to be but not others. If he is on the side of Singaporeans, he would not be so wicked as to let the current ills in Singapore fester.

If we are suffocating from the current over-crowdedness, struggling physically and financially against foreigners just to have basic amenities like public housing,  transportation and medical care, what of our children and grandchildren come 2030?

What outrages me most is when MND announced the building of more flats and MOT announced the building of more MRT lines during the Punggol East by-election. I thought it was just a political ploy to win more votes for the colorectal doctor. It is heinous of them to do it for the sake of importing more foreigners. 

For decades, I have been a 'quai quai' = 'well behaved' Singaporean. I did my NS in late 60's and my many years of reservist's training. At 55, I realised that I've been fooked by CPF when they did not release in full the money that I started saving since 1967! 

I worked hard to take care of my family; to take care of my country. Except for the free text books that I had during my primary school days, I did not ask for anything from my country. During the times when I was down and out, it was my friends and relatives who helped me. I have never been to a Meet-the-PAPeople-session and I asked not what they can do for me. Reason being I'd rather seek help from friends and relatives than to beg from arrogant pricks! I do not want to be owned by them. My integrity disallow me to owe them any. Now I can tell them in the face, "Mr Minister, you make a mockery of National Service by paying yourself millions from the taxes paid by Singaporeans. You should be ashamed of yourself. How on earth do you sleep at night!" They can fix me but buying me is a different kettle of fish.

For the sake of our children and their children, each of us must send a message, a strong message to the PAP rulers that we do not agree with the crazy Ponzi Demography [Link] that is going on. Like the 'enlightened ones' in Aljunied, Hougang and Punggol East, we must have the courage to protect our loved ones, our children, our grandchildren. We must not let them suffer a fate worse than us. Please be at Hong Lim Park on Saturday, 16th February 2013 at 4.30pm to show PAP that 5.3 million is more than enough!

I hope my readers will join me in doing what is right in Hong Lim.  I have been in the moment and I shall be again to protect my children and my grandchildren by showing PAP that I have overcome the fear. The worry I have for my kids and their kids overrides the fear I have of ISD, PAP and their lawyers' letters,  I have worked too hard, I have suffered too much to see my loved ones travel like this.

The Party That Was!

For the average Singaporeans, this may be the mother of all parties!



It's only in this coffeeshop at Block 327 Hougang Avenue 5. The scene outside at Avenue 5 is even louder and more celebratory!

That's the party that was.

The other party that "was" is PAP. Looking at the press conference of PAP after BE, one would note that PAP is still on denial mode. By stating that the by election effect is what made WP win is another act of arrogance. Having been humbled by such a margin, I'm amazed that PAP still wants to act tough while licking its wounds.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why PAP cannot be humane and humble and "honest"(as in transparent and speaking from the heart instead of the stubborn brain). I also cannot fathom why they keep ignoring the obvious that there is so much unhappiness among Singaporeans. Without wasting precious resources on national conversations, commissions or enquiries to 'wayang", every Singaporean like Ahmad, Ah Beng, Kumar and Joe would guess:

• Singaporeans feel cheated (played out) by the way our savings is handled by CPF. 
• Public Housing HDB flats are not subsidised. Profits are made from the sale of HDB flats.
• HDB should sell flats at cost plus instead of benchmarking the selling price based on resale flats.
• Many departments in government/statutory board are OUTSOURCING their jobs to others. Without the outsourcing of HDB to Town Councils to manage housing estates, the loss of residents' money to Lehman Bros would not have happened. Now we know that Town Councils have outsourced to AIM. 
• Worse, all these outsourcing from one contractor to another has helped to depress wages of labour especially cleaners and security guards. 
• Singapore is overcrowded not only with foreign workers but also their fathers, mothers, fathers-in-law, mother-s-in-laws and their maids.
• Singaporeans are angry being called daft deserving spurs on our hides especially when we are so pestered to to be "better, faster and cheaper" workers.
• Singaporeans are fed up that there is no equality and justice in Singapore - why certain people are charged and imprisoned for making racists' remarks while others are not. Why PAP government and their agencies allow certain MP to instruct traffic warden not to issue summons to offenders. When these agencies and PAP leaders allow such blatant bending of the rules and ignore the cries of citizens for justice and fair play, Singaporeans can only level the playing field by voting for the opposition.
• Ministers make a mockery of National Service when they pay themselves $millions!
• Ruling party has totally lost touch with the ground and the by election at Punggol East is the starker that only PAP is too blind to see.

It is a bitch now for PAP to recruit good new blood. Political aspirants with a sense of justice, fair play, equality and loyalty to Singapore may not touch PAP with a ten-foot-pole. Average Singaporean like Ahmad, Ah Beng, Kumar and Joe may even think that there is turmoil within PAP.

The Big Business Of Singapore

My dear "quitter" schoolmate from downunder  emailed me this. I do not know the source but share I must.   Here goes:

My father just handed over his business to me, and I want to follow his example and run it like a typical family-owned Chinese business.  Can teach me how to do it properly? Thank you.


Reply: Dear New Towkay

Eh, not say I say what, but running a classic Chinese fambly business is si beh chia lat one. It's a time-honoured tradition and you cannot anyhow play-play. But you're lucky. Recently, donno why also, but got a lot of people call me and say they are now working for a fambly business (some funny company called Tummy Sick Holdings or something) and want to know how to do things swee-swee. Because of the demand, I am going to write a book. But because you ask so nicely, I give you some basic ideas. But make sure when my book is published, you faster go buy it, okay? Otherwise I will send some of my kah kia to come 'visit' you. Okay.

First thing is you are very the lucky to have have a powderful daddy who owned this business to pass down to you, otherwise chin kang kor one. Nowsaday very hard to start a company because of unfair competition by all these other fambly-owned businesses. (To everybody else who don't have such fambly connections, you all better faster give up and start looking for jobs in Australia .)

First thing first, you must take care of your daddy - give him a title like 'Sifu' or, in MBA language, 'mentor'. Oso, don't forget to reward the stooge your father put in place to run the company before you came of age. Maybe can give him your daddy's former title, but make sure he only gets the title and none of the perks that came with it. Cannot boh tua boh suay, corright not?

Now to the business - very important this one. You must make sure that you control the money, because cash is king, what. That's why in Chinese restaurants, a fambly member always sits at the cash register. So, not only must you be the CEO, you must be in charge of finance as well, i.e. the CFO.

For exampur (and exampur only, ah) if the business is a country, become the Prime Minister AND Finance Minister. You can put the loyal old ah pek who warm the seat for you a member of the board (maybe can make him 'Chairman') but make sure he knows his limits. You must also staff his team with your kaki lang. Also make sure the Board only makes suggestions and recommendations, but you make final decision. To make things easier, put your wife in charge of all the diversified fambly holding companies, with control over the subsidiaries as well as the investments in other companies.

If you are a classic Chinese businessman, your wife is probably not a very good manager or maybe she a bit suay and lose a lot of money before, or like to anyhow buy nonsense. So you must have lots of yes-men and sar-kah tzuas in your company. These people will be there to take the blame when she cock up. Also she can take the credit and be promoted whenever they get things right. If you got a younger brother, put him in charge of the largest subsidiary, the fambly cash-cow that makes the profits for your enterprise.

Again, you must not forget your father. He should be the grand Chairman of the secret company that actually controls all the assets, invested offshore, or deposited in secret banking accounts worldwide. Important, hor: under no circumstances must you make the operations of this company known to your shareholders. Pick auditors and accountants who are loyal to you.

Maybe you got a former jaga? Make him the 'guardian' of these assets. He should be loyal enough. If not, you can always slap the mama bugger. If skarly other independent directors question the value of the sets, tell them they must wait long-long because it will take many, many man-years to calculate.

Then retire them quietly. Maybe post them to head your Patpong branch. As for security, you must have the cooperation of a trusted gang to do your dirty work. Like 'Band of Brothers' but in your case, the brothers must be the 'blood'-type. These people will help you sng seow and do enforcement with chao kah people. But must also keep up with the times. Bicycle chains, breaking peoples' legs, hanging pigs heads on their doors etc. are a bit the old-fashioned oreddy. Nowsaday, all bullying and intimidation is done through the legal process, for exampur, by suing your enemies for defamation or something and bankrupting them. More sheebilised and cleaner than having blood and dead bodies all over the place. So make sure you also got a team of lawyers that are loyal to you.

Maybe you are lucky, and your fambly also own a law firm, better still. But what happens if the other side also got lawyers? No problem. Just make sure you have judges on your side.

The best is if you got an old fambly friend who is a senior judge. If your father knew his business, he early-early oreddy take care of that. As for the police, dun worry. Go find a relative, for exampur, an uncle who used to work with the force, is good enough. You also need other security people but give them a respectable title, call them a 'department' like International Services Department (ISD) or something, and adopt modern marketing techniques for developing trust and cooperation with business partners or competitors like the use of high-tech surveillance and air-conditioning for example. You can sabo competitors by labeling them as 'Communists', but just be careful you don't do that with the mainland Chinese, OK? They dun like it. People who used to work for you in these security departments can also hepchu do your PR work by working for you in the newspapers or TV stations, so instead of reporting TO you, they can report good things FOR you.

Remember, 'PR' are the first two letters of the word 'propaganda'. Well, this is only a short summary of what should already be done. As for what happens next, you must buy my book to find out more. But you can take some tips from me. Keep to the basics. Drugs are good business, just call it 'pharmaceuticals' and you are all set for the 21st century. Don't forget other traditional samseng activities like gambling, which is always profitable, so big projects like starting a casino, should also be on the top of your list of priorities. One final word of advice - your fambly business may already have some established big customers and trading partners, like some really big-shot towkays, and you must not do anything to sabo those relationships.

If some of these partners are already in some kind of dispute, for example, one big firm threatening a smaller spin-off and competitor for being too 'independent' or donno what, you MUST NOT take sides. Stay far, far away. Don'tch even visit the smaller company, even if it's for 'personal' reasons. Otherwise you will be hantam by both parties, they will call you all sorts of CB names and then you really kena sai.

So, congratulations, you have arrived. Don't forget to pay yourself a good salary - a million dollars at least, so I can get a good 'cut' for future advice on your business.

Seriously, with the recent loss, will Towkay now consult Ah Beng to teach him how to get all the sai out of the way of AIM. If sai sticks until 2016, very chialat. Even yes-men and sar-kah tzuas will find it difficult to unAIM.

Pay Back Time Is Such A Bitch!

PAP should now know that payback time is such a bitch! More so for the Chairman of Party with the infamy of "Rotten Fruit Seller".

The atherosclerotic plaque  in my artery leading to my heart did not give way. The ecstasy was overwhelming and I am most grateful that my damaged heart is still pumping fine. The scene at Hougang Avenue 5 especially at the coffee shop at Block 322 after the announcement by Yam Ah Mee  blew my mind! The chance meeting with a Professor and passing him the recycled banner was a bonus!

It was like celebrating Merry Christmas, Hari Raya, Deepavali, Chinese New Year when I was young, acing an exam, winning Malaysia Cup (in the 70s) and having an orgasm all at the same time!

I thank my fellow Singaporeans of Punggol East for having the courage to use their votes to let Lee Hsien Loong and his PAP team know that all is not well in Singapore. Enough is enough! Picking dead leaves off the grating of 'longkang' and throwing the leaves thereafter against the wall shows the nature of what the PAP party stands for. In one word it is:  'WAYANG'! = ACTING!

By now Lee Hsien Loong should wake up from his slumber to know that Singaporeans perceive PAP as nothing but "People's Acting Party" cum "People's Arrogant Party". If he is still asleep, come 2016, it may be too late! If he is not willing to get down, really get down to be with the people, he will lose it all [Video Link]


Yeah, it's after 5am of 27 Jan 2013 that this blog is put up. I hope you get the drift because the featured video started before 10pm.

I'm not concerned about PAP losing the majority in Parliament in 2016. Rather, I'm worried and scared shit that the unhappiness, the frustration and the sense of hopelessness of Singaporeans will lead to turmoil not unlike what we see in other countries like Egypt and Syria. Funnily, the turmoil may be initiated by new citizens rather than born-and-bred Singaporeans! The recent bus strike teaches me so.

If the 'buying and fixing' continues ad nauseam (solving problems with pork barrel money) the future of our children and our grandchildren are at stake. We do not need nepotism. We do not need toady and sychophant. We need truth. We need honesty. We need transparency. We need sincerity and human kindness.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Hey, I do not want to receive a letter from any high falutin' lawyer that I should not say this in my blog and apologise for what I blogged, but AIMgate is telling me something that all is not well in Singapore!

Where I am concerned, PAP, WP, SDP, SDA, RP and whatever party is fine with Singaporeans as long as the party especially its leadership has the core values to be what it needs to be.

The scare that PAP so often throws at us is that with more opposition members in parliament, with more checks and balances, Singapore would freeze! Geez, I'd rather be freezed than be treated like dafts with spurs in my hides, oblivious to the money that I have in CPF and be ripped off by the exorbitant prices of HDB flats! Which till this day has screwed my mind with this English word called 'SUBSIDY'. Just what the fook is subsidised housing? Where HDB  and their out-sourced contractors can make enough money to the extent that they can give you discount up to 15%?? when cooling measures are called?

The current conditions have shown that the power that is could be beyond redemption for making a mockery of national service (with their obscene salaries) and its disregard for its ordinary folks with its reluctance to implement minimum wage scheme. The GINI reading is a real shame!

Enough of my thoughts at the early morning after an orgasmic journey to Hougang to celebrate LIFE, NATIONHOOD and COURAGE in a little red dot which has cheated us of of our savings and treat us with contempt. When I pay tax according to constitution, I pay tax. Please, but please don't mess me up with unilateral CPF regulations that deprived me of the money I slogged for with my blood, sweat and tears. And please, Ng Eng Hean, I do not use my CPF money after 55 to fook Indonesian prostitutes or look for new sex partners in Batam! [Link]

Meanwhile, may Singaporeans, especially the 54% of Punggol East residents, celebrate the joy that my fellow citizens in Hougang and I had on having another voice in parliament. A first world parliament I might add, to speak for us, the ordinary folks of Singapore!

Folks who may not own a car or pick up leaves from gratings of longkangs after heavy rain!

Voters of Punggol East, Please Hear My Plea

Crazy as it may seem, the "Well, everybody has a car" video went a little viral with more than 68,000 hits that the msm are too shy to report.

Here is a plea from a Singaporean Grandpa [Link] to help him save his children and grandchildren. If this video can do the same as "This can't be real?" in hits, this fogey's children and grandchildren may have a better future!  The plea comes with a song. Please bear with the singing. Please share this video especially with your friends and relatives in Punggol East and other parts of Singapore.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

We need more alternative members of parliament in Singapore to check and balance PAP so that shenangans like AIMgate can be exposed and truth be told.  It is through more alternative voices in Singapore, in Parliament, that we can build a truly democratic society based on justice and equality.

Sedikit sedikit lama lama jadi bukit. Someone said that it is the little drops of water that create ripples that leads to huge wave. After Hougang and Aljunied, it is time to create more ripple so that arrogant politicians in PAP will learn that they cannot ride roughshod over us.

Dear Punggol East residents, please help make Singapore a better place to be. Please show the PAP government that enough is enough! Please let them know that the National Conversation in being conversed right now in this by election. Please use your precious votes to tell the PAP that we are sick and tired of being treated like idiots to be bought and fixed at their whim and fancy.

Voters in Punggol East can create conditions for Singaporeans to breathe better, to live better!

For the poorer and less fortunate Singaporeans, better is the only option!

Wind Of Change

At the final rally of WP at Punggol East on 23 Jan 2013, this little guy and his parents are no ordinary 'kiasu', 'kiasi' and 'kiakui' Singaporeans. They are not afraid of 'losing', 'dying' or the 'demon/devil' of the power that is! Beside him is the ever-present WP Rally Trumpeter and Drummer who does much to liven up the atmosphere.

For all who missed the rally, may I lead you [here] to watch and listen to the wind of change. 

To the chagrin of PAP, Lee Kuan Yew and his ilk, they will be devastated to note that opposition candidates are no longer "bicycle thieves" that LKY used to disparage and write off so conveniently. To say that there are insufficient talents to fill up more than one political party in Singapore is to 'lau kar kui kor' = shit all over the pants = embarrass oneself with utterances of stupidity and conceit.

If you feel the way I feel after 3 hours of orgasm (pardon my expression, it was cathartic and there was never a dull moment) watching the final rally of WP at Punggol East, you will know that the wind of change is on course. I was impressed with Terence the lawyer at the rally last Saturday. Now I congratulate WP for having Prof Daniel Goh! 

As much as I'm impressed with the highly educated in WP, my heart swells with happiness that Uncle Lim holds himself up so well with his Hokkien speech at almost every rally as the first speaker. I'm thrilled to note that Li Lian went from 'N' level to 'O' level to polytechnic and got her degree without studying full-time. Hormat (respect) Li Lian, Hormat! 

Unlike PAP's style of parachuting elite with 3-week-old PAP membership to be a MP, Li Lian has 6-year experience of political and community work. last helping Pritam Singh in his ward in Eunos.

With the filth emanating from AIMgate (tip of an iceberg), Singaporeans hopefully will see arrogant politicians who think that they are God's gifts to Singaporeans hang down their heads in shame.

For Li Lian not to win in this by-election will be a travesty of commonsense, equality, justice and the true spirit of Singapore.

Come the night of 26 or the early morning of 27 January 2013, may we celebrate the birth of another alternative voice in parliament and send a message, a very strong message, to PAP, that all is not well!

Taking The Thunder Out Of Tharman's Budget Speech

So who took the thunder and lightning away from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam's FY2013 Budget Statement to be delivered in Parliament on Monday, 25 February 2013? [Link]

Non-PAP lovers may give credit to WP's Lee Li Lian for bringing up the subject of the high cost of bringing up children at the election rally last Saturday [Link]. I would think Laura did it. If not for Laura, there would not be Palmergate. If not for Palmergate, there would not be a by-election. If not for this by-election, we would not have the opportunity to be stucked in the mud and drizzle listening to Li Lian and her WP colleagues bringing up issues. 

After watching WP's Png Eng Huat at the rally last Saturday, I'm curious if, in his adorable style, he would say: "Wah! sin pattern, meh?". As in a "new pattern" press release to win votes for PAP's Dr Koh in Punggol East with this give-aways by PAP before Election Day of 26 January 2013 and way way way way way ahead of the Budget speech on 25 February 2013. "Chit kuan eh pattern pun eh sai, meh?" "Pattern begini pun boleh, meh?" Pattern like this also can, meh? 

Gee, old habits die hard. "Fixing and buying" Anyone?

Anyway, the bringing forward of the announcement of the so-called "goodies" by PAP shows how important it is for Singaporeans to have more alternative voices in parliament. How important it is to see Lee Li Lian get voted into parliament on 26 January 2013.

Granted, PAP lovers like to joke about the WP's "First World Parliament" like some of us love to joke about the absurdity of "Everybody has a car" and "picking dead leaves at longkong" and the explanation [Link] needed on the perception of the English language. 

However, in all seriousness, the "First World Parliament" may come true very soon in Singapore. PAP lovers and cronies keep harping that WP is sleeping in Parliament without realising that some questions being asked by WP MPs are so sharp that even the Foreign Minister has to challenge Pritam Singh [Link]. 

With hands on heart, I'm sure everyone (whether has car or not)  will feel that we need more credible alternative voice in our parliament after watching this.

This is the same lady ( Sylvia Lim Swee Lian) who without fear, favour, fanfare or drumroll brought forth AIMgate which, possibly being the tip of an iceberg, may be the beginning of the end of PAP?

Dear East Punggolites, may we have another Lian in Parliament please.

I can still recall Michael Palmer saying that he did not know that there are poor people in Singapore until he joined politics. Maybe he also did not know that there are one-woman men in Singapore!

Now we have another guy from PAP saying, "Well, everybody has a car." This same guy wishes to take over the job that Michael Palmer lost due to his "Tell Laura I Love Her".

EVERYBODY HAS A CAR?  In Singapore? With the current cheapest COE at $92,100?

Geez, where did this guy come from?

If PAP has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to come up with a candidate like this to represent the constituents of Punggol East, I think they have big problems. Very big!

I cannot help but watch this video for more than once to understand just what this dude is up to? I had to rewind it a few times to make sure my ears and my eyes are connected to my brain in trying to comprehend.

I do not know if the above footage was stage managed or was it a valid news scoop. But I do find the super-imposed subtitles very apt especially when PM Lee is judging if the good doctor is made of "ministerial material" not unlike Ong Ye Khun.

The above pictures from yahoo news show the massive crowd and the muddy feet planted at the WP rally of 19 Jan 2013 located at the field opposite 183C Rivervale Crescent.

It was wet. It was muddy. There are Singaporeans and there are Singaporeans! They came!

• There are thousands who do not mind getting wet and dirty to hear, to see, to feel. 
• There are thousands who bother to show up and be counted
• There are thousands who feel that enough is enough
• There are thousands who want change
• There are thousands who fear no more

There are thousands who came to listen

• To why PAP needs to free CPF (Medisafe, Medishield, Minimum Sum Scheme)
• To have a decent houses to live at a decent prices (HDB?)
• To make "Blue Sky Day" a way of life (not a political gimmick)
• To have a place in the train or bus without the unpleasant smelling of armpits
• To have Childcare and Infant Care made less expensive when grants of up to $30,000,000 are given only to PAP Childern Foundation  and NTUC Childcare Co-operative
• To have a government that listens and act for the good of its citizens. Not one that says sorry just to win votes but does nothing to improve the lives of Singaporeans.

Of the thousands who turned up, I know not what they went home with. For me, the hours spent sitting on a muddied plastic mat listening and watching 'live' politicians speaking without fear of the sad state of affairs of a country we all love is worth the dirt and having to walk barefoot in the mud. To be in the moment when gems were spoken is priceless! The video above explains.

Silly as it may sound, I think Singaporeans are starved of the chance to gather; to demonstrate; to show unity; to exhibit their frustration, their helplessness to wake up an authority that has taken Singaporeans for granted for too long (words of Low Thia Khiang). An authority that can say sorry for messing up but after achieving its objective went back to its old ways to mess us up further.

An authority so dazed, confused and drunk by its power that any little challenge from anyone makes the authority lose the plot. Who can really understand why a 3-week-old PAP recruit is put forward as a candidate in a by-election? Worse, one who spend his last $11.50 counting and buying chopsticks in Toyogo. Hard t believe.

It is a pity that with the arsenal that they have, they cannot produce a more seasoned candidate? Ong Ye Khun (ministerial material?) would have been a good choice. Alas, conditions may not be right for him or has he joined George Yeo's "flow"?

Can this be the reason why Dr Chopsticks' rally have such a crowd?

And yes, if Singaporeans are allowed peaceful demonstrations to march in thousands like the peaceful ones they have in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong without brutality but with co-operation from the police, Singaporeans may be happier. And with more "Blue Sky" days and reasonable childcare expenses,  Singaporeans may have more sex, more babies and we need not listen to excuses of importing foreigners to replace us.

What Would They Not Do To Put Him In A Good Light?

Above are 2 full pages of Straits Times' song and dance on PAP's Dr Koh in Punggol East. If only they would dedicate as much space to the alternative political parties especially Workers' Party, Singapore and Singaporeans would be in a happier state of being! To let WP, RP and SDA share only one page at A9 shows the bias that so often is.

Of all the reports by ST on 19 Jan 2013, what caught my attention was the article on this 80-year-old lady. With due respect to Madam Saleha Mohd Shah and her good intention, I am reminded of the following video.

I'm sure the following questions will tickle the minds of many:

1. Who initiated the move to get Mdm Saleha to speak on PAP's stage?
2. Is Mdm Saleha a member of PAP? If she is why is she not in "white"?
3. Was Mdm Saleha treated to a meal of 'nasi padang' before her appearance?

I think the good doctor is carrying his childhood sob story too far. Just what has kuning fish feeding seven members of his family and his poor mother eating fishbone got to do with:

• AIMGate;
• ministers' obscene salaries; 
• expensive public housing; 
• over-crowded trains and buses; 
• crazy importation of foreigners; 
• depressing wages and 
• high inflation ???

If this is the best that PAP and Dr Chopstcks can do to win East Punggolites over, I think WP will create another political first in Singapore. Having broken the world record of beating PAP in a GRC, WP will make history again by beating the ruling party in a 4-cornered fight!

If Dr Koh needs a 80-year-old lady to appear on stage to say, "He is not sombong (Malay for proud). He is no yayapapaya. He is very caring of the old, and touches old people's hearts", PAP must have lost the plot and are digging the bottom of the barrel to get some!

I'll be at Block 183C, Rivervale Crescent by 7pm tonight to de-stress myself, have a good time listening to reasons why we need more alternative voices in parliament rather than the same old same old worshipping of the Chopsticks Eating Kuning Fish!

Singaporeans, We Must Have The Courage To Change

With the heat emanating in Punggol East, you will notice the above monstrosity at the junction of Sengkang East Way and Sengkang East Drive. If my memory serves me well, the banner had the picture of Michael Palmer instead of the above before he resigned. 

Questions: 

1. Does this location in front of Block 160 carpark (junction of Sengkang East Way and Sengkang East Drive) belong to the constituency of Punggol East SMC? If it is, why are the pictures of the MPs of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC staring at us?
2. If it is in the constituency of Punggol East, what right does PAP have to display this banner?
3. Who pays for the banner?
4. Which government department/ institution allows such banners to be displayed?
5. Why do I see faces of only PAP's MPs pictures in such banners all over Singapore?
6. Why do I not see faces of WP's MPs pictures in Hougang or Aljunied?

Fair is fair. If the location is in the electoral boundary of Punggol East, I would think that someone has illegally abused his/her power to benefit PAP for cheap advertisement and self-aggrandisement. So does this location belong to Pasir Ris-Punggol or Punggol East?

Funny. Though many uncouth Singaporean bitch much about the inefficiency (corrupted, slow, dirty, etc.) of countries they visit, most Singkies do not give much fook to the dirt (unfairness, inequality, injustice, lack of real democracy) practiced by their own countrymen in their own country.

So what does it take to change the essence of a man? The essence of Singaporeans?

What does it take for Singaporeans to realise:

1. The only fear to fear is fear itself
2. LKY is not God and all that come from PAP are not gospel truths
3. We are too old to die young but our descendants are not. If we do not have enough alternative voices and strength in parliament to mitigate the harm being done to Singapore, it is not us but our children and our children's children who will pay the price and suffer
4. The arrogance, callousness and hubris of "PAP Knows Best" are the roots of many evils manifesting Singapore now.
5. The rubbish of Singapore being 1st World is a damned lie.
6. The fact that Singapore is the only country where old folks in their 60's. 70's and even 80's need to work as cleaners in hawkers centres and have to pick paper cartons and aluminium cans in rubbish dumps to survive is a sad truth for all to see. It is a fookin' shame that my friends from Burma and PRC are telling me how screwed up Singapore is because such shame is rarely seen in their countries!
7. The disparagement and derogation Singaporeans had of Philippines (Marcos era), Indonesia (Suharto and even Soekarno era) and other neighbours is coming to visit and bite us now. We used to speak of the corruption of such nations not knowing that we may be paying the same price now albeit in a more leegalise way. Atrocious salaries for ministers who failed and retired with pensions. Incoming ministers with such sense of granduer that they feel and commented that the obscene salaries they receive is insufficient to pay for their family time they sacrifice to serve the people! AIMgate.
   
   Is it payback time for Singaporeans for the sins they committed in despising and looking down on others?

I'm not sure if it was written in "Beyond the Blue Gate" by Teo Soh Lung or another book by another Singapore political prisoner that in ISD interrogations, officers threatened that "accidents can happen" to those who do not toe the line. 

Being a blogger telling it like it is, I have been advised by those who love and care for me to be careful. I have been often warned to do no harm to those so powerful who can easily harm me. I write from my damaged heart sharing my perception of the things I see that does not resonate well for my country. If the powerful feel slighted by my perception and accident happens, it happens.

I'm already too old to die young.

The tree may not have fallen yet but the monkeys, I must say, are a little dazed and confused. With CPIB and the AG Chambers having much difficulty to gel in their cases against CNB's Gay [Link] and Professor Tey [Link], the 'tree' may wonder if "Cold Store" or "Operation Spectrum" may have been more effective in "command and control". Alas for him, in this time and age, knuckle dusters ain't workin' no more!

If the 'wayang', the trickery, the lack of transparency, the contempt of the current PAP power has on its citizens continues unabated, death will consume not only the 'tree' but Singapore too! AIMgate may just be the precursor of more harm to come!

"Lian Lian How" 莲莲好!

Looks like the money I paid for the books I bought is well spent. "Democratically Speaking", I'm delighted that SDP and Chee Soon Juan has decided to do the sensible - to celebrate 莲莲好! [Link]

Some may condemn while others may praise CSJ and SDP for past week's political drama. Having written what I wrote on Chee Soon Juan, I'm just glad that good sense prevails. Though I would not say the same for RP's Kenneth Jeyaratnam and SDA's Desmond Teo.

I'd love to see SDP continue to walk the ground and do the prep work for 2016 in Holland/Bukit Timah and Tanjong Pagar GRCs. The thrill of seeing Chee Soon Juan and his team winning Tanjong Pagar GRC in 2016 will be priceless! Then again, what the Elections Department will do to Tanjong Pagar after Lee Kuan Yew retires is que sera sera.

As much as Kenneth Jeyaratnam and Desmond Lim wish to be known as the Spoilers of 2013  causing split votes for the opposition, I still look forward to celebrate Chinese New Year with 莲莲好!

Since GE 2011 we have:

• AIMgate, 
• PalmerGate
• More breakdowns in MRT service
• Bus workers strike
• Less breathing space (continuing import of foreigners with inadequate infrastructure)
• Giving $1.1billion of tax payers money to profit making bus companies
• New ministers lamenting that it is not a 'privilege' but a 'sacrifice' of lucrative income and family time to be a minister in Singapore [Tan Chuan-Jin Link] [FU Grace Link]
• a PM who said "sorry" but neither repenting nor change policies that are detrimental to the average Singaporeans
• A "Silver Tsunami" not caused by greying Singaporeans but by the import of parents and grandparents of foreigners who come here to work.

As much as local concerns like the Rivervale Plaza and lack of childcare centers in Punggol East will affect the voting, I'm sure that national issues listed above will have a negative impact on PAP's Dr Chopsticks! 

Many compare the "qualifications' of Li Lian and Dr Chopsticks. Some, especially those in PAP figure that Dr Chopsticks with his elitist titles and positions [Link] can serve East Punggolites better. I'm not too sure. Where values are concerned, is it not a lack of faith, integrity, honour and self-respect to forsake older loyal party members and put a 3-week-old newbie party member in such a spotlight? Just what would PAP's 'ministerial material' Ong Yee Khun [Link] think and feel? Betrayed? Or relieved that he will not have to lose again?

One Lian Up, The Other Lian To Follow - Singapore Parliament

If PAP's candidate for Punggol East Dr Koh Poh Koon is "the son of Punggol", can I claim that my mother is the Queen of England?

Geez, there are ways to score points and there are ways to score points but "the son of Punggol" crap is just that. Crap! He lived in Punggol for 3 years after he was born and he becomes the "son of Punggol". And that is going to win him votes? So brudders, since we were born here, we are all "Sons of Singapore!" No?

Dr Koh was reported by CNA to have said, "The residents have to be practical and realistic - that you must choose to vote the person who can do the work for you. I think it's a fallacy to believe that you can have the best of both worlds - choose the person to make a statement but hope that the other person who's voted out is going to be having all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you." [Link]

This threat may be the death knell of Dr Koh Poh Koon as a politician! I do not know why Dr Koh wants to commit political suicide before he even started. Oh, lest we forget, he was asked to serve! He did not volunteer to serve.

He does remind me of Goh Chok Tong's threat of no upgrading for residents if they voted for anyone other than PAP. Did Dr Koh not learn that Singaporeans are no longer fearful of their bullying threats! And does he not know that Singaporean especially East Punggolites are sick and tired of being treated like duds!

If Dr Koh were voted in as Punggol East's MP, would he be "the person who can do the work for you'? I doubt so. He'd be too busy checking up the arseholes of his patients in Mount Elizabeth while outsourcing Town Councils work to AIM.

Saying "choose the person to make a statement but hope that the other person who's voted out is going to be having all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you" sounds bloody audacious to me. Is he saying only PAP has "all the resources, all the authority, to get the work done for you"?

I'm so glad that WP has decided to retain Lee Li Lian to contest in PE by election. [Link]  It shows a sense of loyalty which I'm sure members and leaders of WP are proud of. Apart from loyalty I do feel values like fairness, trust, integrity, dignity, honor and sanctity are displayed by WP in not replacing Li Lian as a candidate of Punggol East. "Gi Ki" in Hokkien says it all!

Unlike George Yeo and his Team who deserted their supporters and disappeared into thin air after their loss in Aljunied GRC, Lee Li Lian "assisted Aljunied MP Pritam Singh with his Meet the People Sessions in Eunos, acting mostly as his translator but also assisting with the preparation of letters of appeal, among other grassroots work." [Link]

Conditions seem right that we will have 2 Lians in our Parliament, Swee Lian (Sylvia Lim) and Li Lian. It will happen if we do not have contenders from other parties trying their luck to mess up a decent opportunity to have another alternative voice in Parliament.

I'm an optimist. I know that Dr Ang Yong Guan, Dr Paul Tambyah, Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, Kenneth Jeyaratnam and Desmond Lim are not idiots. They know that conditions will be right for them in the next General Election in 2016. Heaven forbids! None would want the infamy of being the Spoiler of 2013!

Dear Leaders of Non-PAP Political Parties

As a Singaporean, I feel very strongly that the arrogant, greedy and callous attitude of PAP is doing much harm to Singapore. Their $$$ first policies (raise GDP at all cost and crazy import of foreign workers) which is literally suffocating Singaporeans leave much to be desired. The games they play with the shifting of goalposts in the many things they control (Electioneering, CPF, HDB, PA, GIC, Temasek, Town Councils, etc.) and their lack of transparency will hurt our children and grandchildren more than they hurt us. Hence, we need more opposition members in Parliament to right their wrongs. Or at least, highlight them as in AIMgate.

God has eyes! 
Surprisingly, karma does happen in one's lifetime - no need to wait for the next life. As recently demonstrated by Palmergate, the power of the universe teaches us not to demand of others to come clean when our own come isn't clean! For that, many Singaporeans are grateful in learning to be gracious with sincerity; not with political correctness (wayang).

If not for the gloating of their high score in town council management and putting WP in a bad light, AIMgate would not have seen the light of day! It is because AHTC is not in the grip of PAP that we know of such depravity!

Though "AIM was not raised as an issue by any of the external auditors who audited the FY2010 accounts of these TCs",  PM Lee said, "In the interest of transparency and maintaining trust in the system, I have asked the Ministry of National Development (MND) to review this transaction fully, and satisfy itself that public funds were safeguarded and residents' interests were not compromised." I guess, cum clean, PAP must!

Just how a subordinate (Mr Tay Kim Poh, Deputy Secretary of MND) can report on the shortcumings of his bosses' ministry and political party to his boss is beyond me. [Link]

Dear non-PAP political leaders and independents who wish to contest in Punggol East,

The Presidential Election has taught us that a 3-cornered (or multi-cornered) fight in Punggol East will only serve PAP best!

I was hoping that WP and SDP and the other parties would work together to come up with only one candidate to take on PAP.

Please do not let this opportunity to have another opposition member in parliament go to waste. Singaporeans who are sick and tired of the shenanigans of PAP are looking forward to the day when we can see the light (transparency) of our CPF, sovereign wealth funds and other stuff that rightly belong to us!

2011 did not see much of 3-cornered fights in the General Election which you good folks did well together to garner 40% of the votes but got less than 10% of the parliamentary seats. It is such a weird and atrocious system that citizens of Singapore wish to see changed and change we must!

And a note to Chee Soon Juan
Due to the demonization by mainstream media, I had a pretty bad impression of you. It was in 2006 when I heard you spoke in Forum in NUS that changed my mind. I thought you did great and you made much sense in your book "Democratically Speaking?" [Link]

However, your latest press conference and proposal of WP ceding to SDP to challenge PAP to avoid a multi-cornered fight is a little too rich to accept, It scares me that the feedback I have from concerned friends who loves to see more opposition in parliament goes like this:

1. My husband thinks Csj is delusional in this instance. I tend 2 agree.
2. I think he is losing the plot...
3. Is this the price to pay for being discharged as bankrupt....Mole for PAP?
4. Is he having bi-polar disorder like Ravi?

I feel sad for you when I hear comments (above) from my friends. 

To me, you have done much in getting Dr Paul Tambyah, Dr Ang Yong Guan and Dr Vincent Wijeysingha and other credible members to join your team. Your book "Democratically Speaking" did much to enhance your reputation. Please do not throw all that away. 

Please continue working with your alternative system on housing, health care and other programs that can put PAP to shame. We truly appreciate you and your team's effort. 

May you continue to walk the ground in Bukit Timah and Ghim Moh and fight in the Main Event in 2016! With patience, truth, hard work and humility,  glory shall come!

Many are also waiting for investigation on Seah Kian Peng's involvement in asking traffic warden not to issue summons to traffic offenders.Why is the msm so silent on this intervention of duty?

I like to believe that we Singaporeans live in a "democratic society based on justice and equality.

Now PM Lee has ordered a review on AIMgate. "According to the MND, the review will be led by the ministry's Deputy Secretary, Mr Tay Kim Poh. It will report to MND Permanent Secretary Benny Lim." [Link]

If we live in a democratic society based on justice and equality, why is AIMgate being reviewed by MND and not investigated by independents who can do the job without fear or favour? Poor Tay Kim Poh. How on earth is he going to tell his PAP boss that PAP has done weird in

• Awarding a tender to a $2 company
• Awarding a tender to a $2 company belonging to PAP
• Awarding a tender to a $2 company belonging to PAP even after the tender period was closed

If you understand the Hokkien term, "Gia lancheow kah tow", you will wonder how long the penis of PAP is? For the uninitiated, "Gia lancheow kah tow" means "hitting your head with your won prick" which means "stupid as stupid gets"!
