A Picture Paints A Thousand Words ( And Such Sweet Words From Huat Ah!)

In The Moment And In The Mud
The Rally That Was!
The above pictures from yahoo news show the massive crowd and the muddy feet planted at the WP rally of 19 Jan 2013 located at the field opposite 183C Rivervale Crescent.

It was wet. It was muddy. There are Singaporeans and there are Singaporeans! They came!
  • There are thousands who do not mind getting wet and dirty to hear, to see, to feel.
  • There are thousands who bother to show up and be counted
  • There are thousands who feel that enough is enough
  • There are thousands who want change
  • There are thousands who fear no more
There are thousands who came to listen
  • To why PAP needs to free CPF (Medisafe, Medishield, Minimum Sum Scheme)
  • To have a decent houses to live at a decent prices (HDB?)
  • To make "Blue Sky Day" a way of life (not a political gimmick)
  • To have a place in the train or bus without the unpleasant smelling of armpits
  • To have Childcare and Infant Care made less expensive when grants of up to $30,000,000 are given only to PAP Childern Foundation  and NTUC Childcare Co-operative
  • To have a government that listens and act for the good of its citizens. Not one that says sorry just to win votes but does nothing to improve the lives of Singaporeans.
  • 老天有眼 - Heaven Got Eyes! How the "Fruit Seller" turned against PAP

Of the thousands who turned up, I know not what they went home with. For me, the hours spent sitting on a muddied plastic mat listening and watching 'live' politicians speaking without fear of the sad state of affairs of a country we all love is worth the dirt and having to walk barefoot in the mud. To be in the moment when gems were spoken is priceless! The video above explains.

Silly as it may sound, I think Singaporeans are starved of the chance to gather; to demonstrate; to show unity; to exhibit their frustration, their helplessness to wake up an authority that has taken Singaporeans for granted for too long (words of Low Thia Khiang). An authority that can say sorry for messing up but after achieving its objective went back to its old ways to mess us up further.

An authority so dazed, confused and drunk by its power that any little challenge from anyone makes the authority lose the plot. Who can really understand why a 3-week-old PAP recruit is put forward as a candidate in a by-election? Worse, one who spend his last $11.50 counting and buying chopsticks in Toyogo. Hard t believe.

It is a pity that with the arsenal that they have, they cannot produce a more seasoned candidate? Ong Ye Khun (ministerial material?) would have been a good choice. Alas, conditions may not be right for him or has he joined George Yeo's "flow"?

Can this be the reason why Dr Chopsticks' rally have such a crowd?

And yes, if Singaporeans are allowed peaceful demonstrations to march in thousands like the peaceful ones they have in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong without brutality but with co-operation from the police, Singaporeans may be happier. And with more "Blue Sky" days and reasonable childcare expenses,  Singaporeans may have more sex, more babies and we need not listen to excuses of importing foreigners to replace us.

If only PAP knows how to lighten up , , , ,

They are still making the same mistake - boasting that the PAP candidate has the potential to be more than MP. The electorate is not interested in voting in people who will instantly earn millions of dollars. They are interested in voting in people who can relate to man in the street, and not those who ask you to get out of their elite fact.

What happened to the minister material by the name of Ong Ye Kung? What happened to the Foreign Minister, Woman Minister and Mayor(?) Zainul?

Mr Fish,

Take a look at this:

The only thing missing is a suitable song to accompany the video footage!

The key PAP strategist/advisor is dead - by 2 years. That is the reason why PAP lost badly in GE2011, Hougang BE and now PE BE. She is a woman. Guess who dat woman is? She is a mother and wife of some PAP minister.

PE residents have the power in their hands that PAP fear now. In the past, they were truly taken for granted by their elected MP who flirts around.

Singaporeans are all watching. Let's hope PE residents vote with their testicles intact like Hougganites and Aljunied residents.

Hahaha

THE said it all. They are making the same mistake, boasting. Since the days of Mah Bow Tan in Potong Pasir who came crashing down like a ton of bricks after all the boast about his 6 distinctions. Then there was George Yeo, who was thought to be unreplaceable as Foreign Minister, and what happened to him in Aljunied GRC?

They will probably say the crowds do not translate into votes as in GE 2011. They may be wrong again. This is 2013, not the past two decades where people only have access to the Govt controlled MSM. Victory is sweeter when it is achieved on the back of the Hougang BE. There are thousand waiting to celebrate on 26th January, 2013.

Can they swap the box last minute and make it a pap win?

Datuk Fish,
I was there. I took a bus there armed with an umbrella. I went up to 18th floor of Blk 182 to take a bird's eye view of the rally. Wow! The crowd was huge despite the fact that its not do obvious to find if you come from the main road. I had a hard time looking for the rally site. I just followed those with umbrellas to the place. The atmosphere was contagious. New comer Terrance a lawyer living in Matine Parade was an excellent fiery speaker. Given some time and practice, he will be a great orator. He's able to work the crowd. Powerful speech with good diction and intonation. I was impressed with this new WP member who joined just after GE 2011! Hope he will stand in 2016! Don't worry Fish, WP will score another victory.

Thanks for feedback, Fish and Anonymous. I fervently hope WP will win too. If not, WP increase its vote share, PAP decrease but win by a very small margin, and both SDA and KJ get thrashed with 1% vote or so each. As long as PAP vote share decrease substantially, whether WP win or lose, the message will be sent - PAP : you continue to suck!! At this rate, you'll lose it in the next GE.

This is the message I hope Punggol East residents will send on 26th.

The good news I see is this - the more the party big-wigs like PM Lee, Heng SK, TCH poke their nose in and open their mouth, the more stupid they look, and the more turned-off voters get. This generation of PAP has forgotten how to fight. They feel they are so great and are entitled to a win. They need to be taught a lesson. A lesson that they only partially learn in GE2011 and need to re-learn, and re-learn, and re-learn again until they become more humble and institute real change.

JG, exactly. Feeling how the crowd react to WP officials reminded me of early years when PAP was very much with the people. LKY was connected to people in every sense and there were always huge crowd when they held rallies. These days, there is no crowd and many suspect those attending are supporters "forced" to come. PAP has lost touch with its people. It is withdrawing under its own protective shell, shared by all the elites. PAP cannot feel the ground anymore. Grassroots are filled with people who care about their own status and benefits. Totally disconnected with ordinary citizens. How sad!

At January 21, 2013 at 2:06 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

That they have lost touch with the ground is an understatment. The PAP, from a party for the poor, is now a party that panders to the rich foreigners, business owners, and global MNCs.

The NTUC was hijacked to ensure that unionised workers do not and can not fight for their real rights, not fake rights. That they needed such a large salary adjustments for the lower income workers is testament to employers short-changing workers all these years. Pity the older workers who could not have a more reasonable salary in their prime working years and are now left stuggling and bent over in their twilight years, still slogging for their three meals.

Had there not been all the unfair election laws, a beholden civil service, a compliant law enforcement environment and all the hijacked public services agencies pandering to the needs of the ruling party, where do you think the PAP would be now and how long their rule would have lasted?

Dragon to turn into Snake(Quote)
I like best Chen Show Mao’s speech at the Workers’ Party rally last night.
I like the part of his Chinese speech that says that the Dragon will
be turned into a Snake on Lunar New Year day.

It will no longer spit fire.
It will no longer live in high heavens. but will be brought down to earth unceremoniously.
Henceforth it will hide in the grass instead of flying gloriously in the sky.
It will also lose its arms and legs, but it will still have teeth to bite.

It will also need to eat a lot more food, so please be prepared for more direct and indirect taxes.

Let’s hope the Snake will not have forked tongue or be a double-headed type.
