Voters of Punggol East, Please Hear My Plea

Crazy as it may seem, the "Well, everybody has a car" video went a little viral with more than 68,000 hits that the msm are too shy to report.

Here is a plea from a Singaporean Grandpa [Link] to help him save his children and grandchildren. If this video can do the same as "This can't be real?" in hits, this fogey's children and grandchildren may have a better future!  The plea comes with a song. Please bear with the singing. Please share this video especially with your friends and relatives in Punggol East and other parts of Singapore.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

We need more alternative members of parliament in Singapore to check and balance PAP so that shenangans like AIMgate can be exposed and truth be told.  It is through more alternative voices in Singapore, in Parliament, that we can build a truly democratic society based on justice and equality.

Sedikit sedikit lama lama jadi bukit. Someone said that it is the little drops of water that create ripples that leads to huge wave. After Hougang and Aljunied, it is time to create more ripple so that arrogant politicians in PAP will learn that they cannot ride roughshod over us.

Dear Punggol East residents, please help make Singapore a better place to be. Please show the PAP government that enough is enough! Please let them know that the National Conversation in being conversed right now in this by election. Please use your precious votes to tell the PAP that we are sick and tired of being treated like idiots to be bought and fixed at their whim and fancy.

Voters in Punggol East can create conditions for Singaporeans to breathe better, to live better!

For the poorer and less fortunate Singaporeans, better is the only option!

Thank you.

You singing definitely sings out with those Singaporeans who feel the same. I would join you in the singing too, who cares whether got singing talent or not. It's the emotions and the bottled up the throat frustrations that got to get off our chest!!! Pray hard that the PE residents have the courage to vote for WP. Mr Fish, I salute YOU!!!!!

A piece of good news fish,

My cousin who live in Punggol said their neighbours are not so favourable of PAP. They will vote for WP on 26 Jan 2013.

Enough of the bastard PAP, Punggol residents are not afraid to vote them out in this BE and all other GE. They will lead the whole of Singapore for change and craft s legacy in our book of history along the people of Hougang and Aljunied. They will path the way for greater opposition inroad for the GE 2016. I can't wait for more professional to join opposition camp then.

Hope is in the air. I trust my cousin staying in Punggol East and the residents there not to be fooled and misled by PAP again.

After hearing Low's speech on opposition unity issue, my heart sank. Alernative parties do not need to 'agree' on everything or 'think' the same but when come to election, they must put their differences aside and see PAP as the sole enemy, avoiding multi-cornered fights at all cost is a must. After hearing Low's speech, I have a feeling that our road to democracy will be longer and PAP must be laughing now.

Still, in the spirit of opposition cause, my vote is for WP's Lee Li Lian.

Anon 11.48 may be right. A win for WP in PE on 26.1.2013 may force the PAP to do desperate things in 2016, like $10,000 top ups. But on the other hand Singaporeans have to bear in mind that all these will be taken back as fast as they are given, eg increase in HDB pricing or healthcare cost, or GST.

So, never trust what they do. There is a heavy price to be paid.

A drumstick given by them now means you have to give them back one whole chicken.

On the contrary, my heart soared when I heard the same message.

PAP must be quivering in their pants now and Dr Koh is retrieving his proctoscope.

Singaporean workers are being exploited. Singapore is the only first world country without any forms of social security and government medical insurance.

Our public housing system is not due to any charity from Lee Kuan Yew. The subsidy came from the political enemies of PAP government as well as subsistence farmers. The land was expropriated from those landlords."

This is a nice change from the usual bad news from Pap before last week like fare hikes and 7 million population. Thank you WP. Pap really scared and listen to you.

One thing is for sure with all the goodies trotted out just before Punggol East BE - we should have BE often.

But hor, not so sure whether those are for real or just temporary and may be tweaked to negate the benefits once the BE is over.

Hey Fish, I just read this at another site. Thot I'd share this with everyone here. This was posted somewhere else by someone who seems to be an insider. Looks like there's a chance of tight slappppp tomorrow :

=====
The general sense on the ground after 9 days of the PAP candidate is not all that rosy. For the first time in PAP's history since Singapore's independence, people from all walks of life are concerned about the character of this candidate. In view of the strict selection process, the individual attributes of PAP candidates have not been an issue in the past. Even when Mah Bow Tan, Kenneth Chen, Desmond Choo and other PAP who lost to opposition candidates, their integrity was never an issue. Not in this case.

First his incredible rags, to rags, to rags, to rags and then riches story which he constantly sees a need to drum into everyone like a tout selling black market tickets in desperation as as the event draws near. Then his extensive CV which beyond believe and even if he does all these things in a calendar year assuming there 7 days in a week, the need to put up such a CV seems like the guys needs constant reaffirmation of himself from others.

There is a video of this man and his response to an important question about healthcare for our ageing Singaporeans was not only avoided but the manner it was avoided was shocking. As result, the PAP had to call a meeting to address this and Dr Amy Khor was roped into to address this issue as a last entry to the last PAP rally.

The question was in healthcare and medical field and this guy is a surgeon and if you look at his CV, its full of his engagement with the medical fraternity and he actually avoided a question of this nature shows a man who is ready to walk away when feels like it and there was no sign of discomfort, unease or the lack of confidence. It was done with clear disdain. If he can't even answer a question in a field where he is a professional, how is he going to answer questions and queries from residents on housing, welfare, education, the economy etc.

-- Part 2 continue --
Now comes the trivia. Why is the need to drive the toyota and hide the BMW. Why did he reply to reporters that he has 2 cars as both he and his wife are professionals. Note the reply. Smacks of elitism. The fact is that his clinic is Mt E and he caters for rich Indonesian clients as he has. Website in Bahasa Indonesia. We are not looking at a Tan Cheng Bock neither are we looking at a Paul Tambiyah, both of whom one can sense a genuine aura of care and passion surrounding them. And they are medical doctors like him having come from the same medical school. Both are well known for their community spirit.

But this guys is akin to a cross between a suave and thuggish Lucky Plaza salesman and an Insurance broker. Where did the PAP go wrong. What happened to the renown selection process. The fact that they had to bring down 6 big guns to do door to door while the candidate kept claiming that he is running his own campaign shows that the PAP are more keen to repair their party image than help their candidate who I suspect his co-members have given up.

We are not looking at a political dud. We are looking at a medical doctor who has a credibility issue. The ikan kuning and biscuit tin was a real stretch. The toyota rather than the BMW is an attempt to mislead. The fact that his CV does not show a single sign of community, social or engagement with charity shows a man who prefers to look after himself. I am sure we all agree that RC work is a political activity. Still hogging public housing to get the best returns despite his earning capacity shows a man detached from the concerns of the ordinary Singaporean.

People are genuinely intrigued how PAP picked a man who twice and 2 separate occasions had to tell reporters that he is not looking for sympathy votes despite constantly harping on poor background which cannot be verified. The fact that both husband and wife who are medical doctors, earning an income struggling to buy a HDB flat and even a chopstick is a shocker. Who in his right mind will peddle this stuff. Where did the salary go to. Why the need to borrow from a uncle? All these claims simply do not add up.

Hah hah ... lets see, can anyone guess which is the first bad news to be trotted out after the BE?

My guess is annoucement that we will continue to increase FT to 7 million or more. TCH's report was due out by Jan-end, and in Feb, there's budget. I think that's why LHL "no choice" but to hold BE now, by pulling ahead all the goodies in Tharman's budget and announcing it in the BE. But bad news is just round the corner .. be prepared ...

To Joshua Chiang who wrote about Bill Gates' success on January 25, 2013 at 3:38 PM:

Bill Gates came from a privileged background. His is not a rags-to-riches case. Along his journey of acquiring computer skills, he had the help of some people giving him opportunities that were not available to "ordinary Americans".

The above are facts cited in Malcolm Galdwell's book "Outliers".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outliers_(book)

Yes, Bill Gates worked very hard and made good use of the opportunities presented to him. However to cite him as an example of American meritocracy? My foot!

The margin of victory for the WP is an eye-opener. One can sense a groundswell of discontent with the PAP that has spread out from Hougang. It has less to do with the qualifications of the candidates, but with what the respective parties stand for. Gidit, PAP? If you don't change, you will be changed.

Congratulations to Ah Lian and WP, and cheers to the passion of people like Mr Fish. Les Miserables of Singapore have spoken, fortified by the Spirit of Punggol East, SMC.
