Is 'Sorry' The New PAP Buzzword?

"Love means never having to say you are sorry." That's just a story, a "Love Story". [Link]

To really repent and say "sorry" to a nation for past sins [Link] takes courage and sincerity. But it would stink to high heavens if it was just a ploy to buy votes and fix opposition. [Link]

Now we have the Health Minister, Gan Kim Yong "apologise to the family who have seen their mother subjected to the treatment at Nightingale Nursing Home" [Link]

The whole incident takes a new twist when "Mr Toh also described the slap as a "gesture of affection between friends" after having stayed at the home for four years, reported the Straits Times." [Link].

This incident aside, is 'sorry' the new mantra of PAP? Whatever the hype, 'sorry' or any other buzzword doesn't mean squat if it doesn't come from the heart, if it is not sincere. Or are some powerful elites demeaning the word, 'sorry'? It'll be a sad day when "sorry means never having to say you are sorry but say sorry because your boss said so"!

Straits Times was aware of this incident way before the Polling Day of May 7 but it was never reported. In the same vein, will the result of Commercial Affairs Department's (CAD) investigation of Kong Hee of City Harvest Church come to light after election too?

Till we know, we'll never know.

Some people seems to be quite well aware that some changes in PAP policies over the years were just adopted from suggestions by the Workers Party and refined as PAP ideas.

Now, James Gomez, a WP candidate in Aljunied GRC during the 2001 election, was the one who created a francas and later apologised for the controversy. This sounds eerily like the PAP trying to adopt another of the WP tactics and giving it another good spin. But they have probably been over indulging in it to diminishing effect.

LOL

Simply put; sorry is no cure, BUT, if Singaporeans are happy with the Word Sorry tendered sincerely or otherwise with no remedial action, then what can one say?

I dont get it, why should he apologise. Is the nursing home a govt run institution?

It is suppose to be vetted by MOH, therefore the govt's business to know what is going on.
If such abuse or substandard health care is actually happening right in our own backyard, then surely it does not make sense to build nursing homes in JB...
Khaw BW can be said to be talking thru' his ass when he made the suggestion.

When "SORRY" is said too many times and by too many PAP's arrogant millionaire-aspired Ministers and yes-man lackies and leekies, it simply becomes meaningless, devoid of sincerity and earnestness.

People expected him to come down hard on the people who are responsible, but instead he said SORRY as if he was at fault, WTF!
