Same Trick, Different Time

It is embarrassing!

I am trying to remember what they did to Mr J B Jeyaratnam and Mr Tang Liang Hong way back then in the days of Cheng San. The GRC that vanished into thin air!

If my memory serves me well, the battery and assault on the integrity of Tang Liang Hong was most unkind. They called Tang Liang Hong a Chinese Chauvinist and an Anti-Christian for a speech Tang gave eons ago which Teo Chee Hean attended. That brought forth the woes that befall Tang Liang Hong.

Tang made a police report that his integrity was damaged by such insinuations. When JB Jeyaratnam showed the police report to the audience at an election rally, he and Tang Liang Hong were later charged for defamation! Because of that incident, JB Jeyaratnam (bless his soul) had to pay damages and Tang Liang Hong became a fugitive!

Very mean and tricky men! They tried their tricks again in Hougang By-Election. However, with legal eagles like Sylvia Lim, Chen Show Mao, Pritam Singh and their knowledge of the filth of PAP, the WP did not bite. Now Teo Chee Hian is at it again luring WP to sue PAP for PAP's dirty tricks!  [See Link from 1:35] The body language of Teo when asked of Hougang's upgrading was interestingly worth paying attention to. Why the reporter did not follow up with "when will the upgrading start?" shows the pathetic quality of journalism in Singapore!

I'm so happy that WP has walked tall and overcome the irritating and unethical challenges from Teo Chee Hean.

It is good to hear Low Thia Khiang saying that the by-election in over and it's time to move on, to work for the betterment of Hougangites in estate and lift upgrading. Hopefully not with spanners thrown at them again by the PAP and PA's CCC again!

Below are some interesting links on what they did to Tang Liang Hong

For those who missed the celebration at Hougang, this is it!

At a community event on Sunday, Mr Teo said: "He had a very combative tone last night which really, really surprised.

Don't act so innocent! DPM Teo is a real hypocrite!!
When he attacks LTK and his party, do you expect LTK to take it lying down?? LTK and WP are on a higher moral ground than TCH and his BULLY PAP who at the slightest incident, would abuse their power to sue in their court. Shame on you TCH! Shame on you PAP!!

Btw, who is combative? Do you remember the HATCHET MAN??

“But we either believe in democracy or we do not. If we do, then, we must say categorically, without qualification, that no restraint from the any democratic processes, other than by the ordinary law of the land, should be allowed… If you believe in democracy, you must believe in it unconditionally. If you believe that men should be free, then, they should have the right of free association, of free speech, of free publication. Then, no law should permit those democratic processes to be set at nought.”
- Lee Kuan Yew as an opposition leader, April 27, 1955

What a joke. If anyone has been in power too long, he becomes the very antithesis of what he fought for. No scruples, win at all costs, hypocrites, lack of principles....

The following are meant to suppress freedom of expression and oppress political opponents : ISA, defamation suites, the Public Order Act, Newspaper and Printing Presses Act, etc..

We want change and reforms and real democracy built on justice and equality. We want more opposition. We want our country back.

Mr Fish, thank you for your blog, and take care of your brave heart.

You are right

Looking back with hindsight, PAP is really despicable, to say the least.

It's commendable that you have seen it right to remind us of the dirty political tactics they dealt to Jeyaretnam & Tang Liang Hoon and not forgetting the spiteful manner they dealt to Francis Seow, someone who was once part of their own establishment.

Do our PAP leaders really need to be that evil in their quest for political power & dominace ?

Mr Fish, glad to know you were out on the streets rubbing shoulders with Hougangers.
Agree absolutely it is the same trick, different time and may i add, different scumbags but same political party.

with bloggers like you plugging away, hopefully more of those in the 60% will see and detest the same trick. cheers!

What Tang Liang Hong said in his time is even more true today. We also see it in last election

Glad that WP did not fall into a trap.

Everyone should read this interview that shows how PAP fix opp party

""But the opposition has to learn this too. All their energy, money, and effort is drained in the legal battles generated by the PAP. They are made very busy in defending themselves. This is the tactics of the PAP. And we must not fall into the PAP's trap repeatedly."
"No people in the world like to be manipulated until they go into the graveyard. And I believe that Singaporeans will wake up one day and say no to the PAP. Now they have no choice but to vote for the PAP. One must understand that about 85 to 90 percent of the total population of Singapore live in HDB flats controlled and managed by the government departments. During the election campaign, the Singapore Prime Minister, Goh Chok Tong, publicly threatened that if they vote for the opposition, their flats will be deliberately let to deteriorate and be of less value, and that by dividing vote-counting into 25 counting centres, they know exactly who vote for the opposition. The people have no choice but to vote for the PAP. There is no democracy. But I believe one day they will fight for their right of choice. They have been threatened for so many years already. But one day-how soon, I cannot predict--but I believe it will not be too long. I do not believe the PAP can hold itself together after LKY is gone. The PAP will fight among themselves like dogs and cats.""

This is sad. They really stood so low to retain power. People say politics is dirty. I guess it's true after all. Everywhere is the same since time immemorial!

DPM Teo showed the true colours of the PAP once again. They will never change.

And he had the cheek to accuse Low of being combative when he himself challenges Low to sue him. Goodness me! He knows and Low knows and 40% of Singaporeans know what the outcome will be. This guy is turning into a joke.

Having lost the plot, failed for trying to make use of outdated tactics, cannot find any new strategy to counter the oppostion and he still thinks he has done well to improve the result by just 2 percentage odd margin in Hougang is worth a song and dance.

I have lost all respect for him.

Do not forget that without full control over media, they cannot do what they do.

The media ( mainstream ) is very much accountable for NOT reporting everything and allowing the readers to judge.

They love to insinuate, use words that change meanings and are suggestive.

Sun Times Chua M F can use words like: 'corroborated' when she described how LTK confirmed the balloting process that included Png's name.

For people who do not use that word often, it suggested that there was a pre meditated act.

Best to ignore the MSM and read blogs instead.. far more enriching.

Thanks

TCH is not a politician per se. He parachuted in Parliament by the back door. That's why he was a Rear Admirer. He is just another conscript and nothing more than a yesman.

LHL cunningly pushed him in front to take charge of the by-election and he fumbled so badly that the old man must be fuming mad. His term of DPM is currently being questioned. Can you imagine Singapore led by this big nose fumbler to succeed LHL?

George Yeo is a far better and capable personality and more appealing and acceptable than big nose rear admirer. Unfortunately he was knocked out in Aljunied.

PAP is really scraping the bottom of the barrel to have big nose being No.2. He has no class at all as clearly seen in the by-election campaign. In fact, Desmond Choo is more appealing and would have won more votes if not for the fumble by big nose.

Thank you Fish. I was very happy with WP's big victory, shake my head when PAP said it is 'encouraged by improvement' (145increase in votes after so much efforts in trying to bring down WP) and shake my head once again when the hypocrite asked Mr Low to sue him. Want to challenge Mr Low, why not go to Aljunied next GE, guess he does not have the guts. Singapore really does not deserve to be lead by someone of such ill character. I pray that he will be kicked out in next GE, shame on him!
