A Testimony Of Michael Palmer's Good Standing Or Low Thia Khiang's Graciousness?

In this video, if only the woman moderator could be a little more original.

In the following video, if only this man had more foresight and less arrogance. If only he knew that there's something known as comeuppance within one's lifetime. Not necessary the next birth.

In this video, I'm glad that this man did not ask PAP to come clean or complain that PAP sells rotten fruits.

It warms my damaged heart to know that there are decent Singaporeans (political leader) who do not gloat over the mistakes and misery of political opponents to score cookie points.

Meanwhile, many Singaporeans are anxiously waiting to know:

  1. When is PM Lee calling for a By-election in Punggol East?
  2. When is PM Lee going to take action on a MP who abused his power?
Parking issues in private estates are common. I have helped mediate these and have conducted various dialogues with my residents in private estates for various streets. They are time consuming and require effort and cooperation by all parties.

Ms Yolanda Chin, who lives near the eateries and wrote “Inconsistent parking enforcement” (Oct 31), had approached me previously about noise and traffic issues. I asked the eateries to cooperate and ensure their patrons observe the rules.

I also asked for enforcement to be stepped up during busy periods, when there was indiscriminate parking in the area. Residents have told me that things have since improved.

The garden party on the day in question, from 4pm to 6pm on a Saturday, was to celebrate the completion of an estate upgrading project in Ms Chin’s estate. All its residents were invited.

As I was driving there, I saw an enforcement officer about to book some cars; I stopped and told him that many residents would be at the party and, unless their cars were obstructing traffic, to apply a light touch and not issue any summons.

This was not the peak period, the cars were parked in an orderly manner and I do not think there were any public safety issues as Ms Chin stated.

I am an advocate that everyone, resident or not, should be reasonable and considerate, with a give and take approach.

All are neighbours there, and when one starts to adopt an uncompromising or unneighbourly approach, such behaviour normally spreads.

It then becomes a lose-lose situation. Most importantly, it destroys the neighbourly spirit in any community.

There will always be some residents who insist that there be constant enforcement, regardless of circumstances. I am against such a “principled” approach for such matters.

I take heart that in two streets in my estate where such disputes used to occur, things have improved following a series of mediation and consensus building among residents.

They have adopted their own ground rules and determination to solve matters internally and to call the enforcement agency only as a last resort.

It has worked well, and the neighbourhood is more peaceful and cordial now.
Back to the garden party: As it was raining heavily from 5.30pm, most residents and cars had already left by then. I hope this letter puts things in the right perspective.

Imagine what the msm hounds would do if an opposition MP were caught for the same abuse of power?

Or are PAP MPs entitled to take the laws into their own hands?

Or are PAP MPs messing with town councils' business without a thought for the well-being of their constituents? [Link] A case where Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau and Attorney-General’s Chambers should investigate?

What? $15K a month to come up with a solution of "give & take" ??

Nothing empirical?
Nothing concrete?
Nothing that can stand the test of time?

Gee! I could have done the same for just $1.50cts.. bus fare.

Imagine...$15K!!???

My company pays me $3K a month and I had to cough up ideas to save $1 million per annum.

I am touched by the comments made by Anonymous of December 22, 2012 11:26 AM.

Yes, it is for our children and our children's children that we must discard this fear to speak the truth. The truth about a reckless PAP government that has lost the direction, they do not know if they are going or coming. They have even lost the moral fibre to do what is right.

Their silence (especially from PM Lee and the msm) on the case of MP Seah Kian Peng who abused his power and lately the shenanigan of town councils in selling the IT software to a $2 company shows the the double standards that is being practiced by the power that is.

They expect us to simply "move on" each time they screw up. Remember big time fookup of MHA in Mas Selamat Jalan case?

As Singaporeans, we must continue to speak up, blog and do what it takes to 'build a democratic society based on justice and equality' in the true sense of the words. We must create conditions that will awaken all Singaporeans that things are getting worse for all of us especially our descendants.

With the advent of internet and active conversations in coffee shops, workplace and every where else, the conditions will be right and change shall manifest.

PAP makes it worse,
We have to make it better
Better Is The Only Option!

"...create conditions that will.."

Thats a better approach than some people who like to use the word MAKE

as in "we must make people to be more giving and gracious"

On the Mas Selamat case, you just reminded me of a conversation we had in the office. The foreigners (mainly caucasians) made very sarcastic remarks about how a limping man could escape, and how a battalion of gurkhas and soldiers combing through almost the whole of Singapore and yet could not find the limping man. As locals, we really fet Paiseh ! Our overrated Home team has let us down.

On your question about when PM Lee is going to call a by election in Punggol East, he is probably waiting for the opposition parties to declare a "civil war" amongst themselves (to split the opposition votes) before he dares call for one.

At December 22, 2012 at 8:33 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

My dear Singaporeans, our calls for a by—election for Punggol East will
fall on deaf ears, our civil rights will continue to be trample on, only a concerted civil movement to raise awareness and publicity will compel the PAP to hold a by—election as the constitution dictates.

The PAP do not value our words and it's ignored and it will not get any attention or respect becos we are boxed in and not thinking out of the boxand becos we allow the PAP to box us in.
To generate that attention, the only proven way to gain greater publicity and support is to seek and show it publicly, the recent strikes is testimonial that action speaks louder than words.

For a small start, to start the ball rolling, I'm calling for a civil movement to raise awareness by way of wearing a white shirt/Tshirt on the 24/12/12, 25/12/12 and 31/12/12.
Show your support and solidarity by wearing a white shirt/Tshirt on this 3 days as a sign in support of a call to the PM for a Punggol East by—election asap.
Spread the message, by facebook, twitter.... on this symbolic action to be seen to be believed.

Do you want to be heard and taken seriously, then you need to be seen to be heard, not boxed in.!
I'll be wearing a white shirt/Tshirt on the 24/12/12, 25/12/12 and 31/12/12 and
looking out for yr support, Spread the message, make it happen.

Wear white T-shirts may not be as effective as a car honking campaign?
See below.

The campaign to impeach USA President Nixon
------------------
Public reaction was immediate and intense, with protesters standing along the sidewalks outside the White House holding signs saying "HONK TO IMPEACH," and hundreds of cars driving by, honking their horns.

Certainly yr info is good. Foremost, we must first establish a rapport
and direction to build on.

To follow up on Anon 2.30pm's point, maybe the opposition parties should "pakat" a bit. Pretend that at least a few candidates will come out and stand for by-election. This will encourage our chicken PM to quickly call for election. Then on nomination day, everybody pull out leaving 1 party to contest the Papies.

At December 23, 2012 at 7:36 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

no, the PM is not waiting for the opposition parties to declare a civil war be that will not happen.
The PM is waiting for the residences of punggol to protest outside parliament. Then and only then he will know that the people of Punggol are fed up.

If you want a by elections at Punggol East,
What should you do?
Honk whenever you drive past the Istana?

Everyone makes mistakes. If Khaw cannot understand that, he must be living in an ugly world where no one wants him.
Khaw can just pack his bag and go back to malaysia where he came from. His shortsightedness and narrow mind does not live up to the millions we pay him year in year out.
Hope the alternative parties can work together and form a one party to combat pussy action party. This is difficult cos some of them are fakes. Fishing out the fakes during this time is important.
PM Lee now hardly in white, the color is pink - stained with blood of our ancestors who came here, sweat, ill treated and left to die without any pride.

Punggol voters who want a bye election can do an online petition.
They can also express their wishes to the Feedback Unit headed by Mayor Amy Khor.

Surely, there must be many voters there wanting a by election as the PAP had won by a very thin margin in the Last GE. Singaporeans are well aware and those from other constituencies may give strong support for the online petition.

Not to hold a BE in Punggol will be a laughing stock to the world. It shows that MIWs got no confidence in taking it back. They are afraid of losing. Don't forget that GE2016 is about 3 yrs away. It's still long way to go. To deny the residents there an MP is not justifiable. Unless its a GRC, then it's a different matter.
They shld be decisive and call for an early BE to settle it asap. Maybe, they can't find a suitably strong candidate? It will be good test case to gauge the rayaat support since its half way through the term of govt. They shld not wayang further. Just announce a date and have a good fight. No point NATO only.
