Have you had enough of "Kee Chiu"?
Oh, mothers of all Generals, is this for real?
When I first saw this video [link], I cringed and asked myself, "This guy was the Chief of Army of Singapore? How did he lead? By asking soldiers to raise their hands?"
When "General" had to stage-manage uncles and aunties [Link] with food and transportation to support his boss in Ang Mo Kio like a "Runner", it confirmed my suspicion that the whiter-than-white was at their old trick of "buying and fixing".
Now I hear that the Acting Minister telling his audience in a dialogue session about bloggers, "No point complaining that it’s dominated by the lunatic fringe and we leave it as such. If you have a point of view, go forth and do something." [Link]
Well, well, well. . . There are those who "Kee Chiu" (raise hands). . . And there are those who are "Seow" (crazy). Sticks and stones may break my bones but I guess words will not hurt bloggers in the "lunatic fringe". As much as I blog to get the elephant off my chest, I must admit that blogging with a point of view that is contrary to 'papspeak' (that's a dime a dozen in msm) helps me stay sane and keeps me away from Alzheimer's!
To add insult to injury, the General said in his monologue at the dialogue, "Small problems or big problems, we always ask: What is the Government doing? There is a certain mentality (that makes me) worry. We can do much more to take charge of the destiny of our life than to ask, what is Government doing?". Aha, so for a start, shall we take charge of our destiny by having a demo (Egypt style, anyone?) to have our CPF back to where it belongs - the people?
Mothers of mothers of Generals, there is indeed a certain mentality that makes me (a "lunatic"?) worry. With all the tea parties, interviews and fine-toothed comb scrutiny in selecting 'whitest of white cream', how on earth did this guy get to be a Minister in the Singapore Givenment? In terms of humility, sincerity, connectedness and EQ, from 1 to 10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best score), in my personal perception, Nicole Seah would have scored 9 and the arrogant General scored 2!
If this is a member of the "new leadership" that PM Lee has faith in to lead Singaporeans as "servants and not masters" [Link], then we are screwed. Big time! If idiots believe that alternative views are nothing more than "throwing stones" at PAP, very soon, 60% would become 40% and vice versa!
Apart from power corrupts, power also breeds hubris. Give a poor boy some power for a few years and he may just lord all over you! I know it takes time to change the essence of a man. However, if he cannot change in time, it may be time for "kee chiu"general to "lo tai".
It is such a waste that while the PM is learning and urging his subordinates to be less arrogant and more "human" [Link], some still continue to "kee chiu" to lord over the people!
"lo tai" English equivalent of Hokkien = "come down from stage"
I know it's safer for bloggers to throw stones [Link] and educate the ivory-tower-elites than to do an 'Egypt' that kills and maims.

Obviously this Kee Chiu conveniently forgot that his master's last apology just before the recent election. Maybe he is trying to prove to us that his master's apology was not really that sincere to begin with, more like part of his 'fixing the opposition' strategy.
And now he is already back on the grounds to basically say that our PAP govt do not owe us anything, even though many of us half-suspect that our hard earned CPF savings are being manipulated by cunning crooks.
Maybe he is trying to catch the attention of the PAP elders so that his career will be guaranteed for life, like the mentor and the wooden one.

He is basically repeating what his superior has mentioned to him. You sense no direction, passion and sense of purpose in his speach.
Oh well... What's new? Back in army, who dares to talk back to the general? Everything he say is right and everyone has to "Yes Sir!"
He is a good speaker that engage the audiences? Puih! PAP should sent him for more public speaking courses! He should learn a trick or two from Steve Jobs before embarrassing himself and Singaporeans by asking everyone to Kee Chiu!
It is an epic failure of nurturing elites which failed miserably out of studies and comfort zones.

TCJ (a newly minted MOS) seemed to be performing better than him up to this stage. At least ahead in terms of touch, and intent to understand the complexities of issues, instead of using general statements to shirk servanthood.
Kee Chiu General is not a Hakka, so why do you think he searched the internet for that Hakka settlement (Langfang Republic)?
Do your own search and you will find that the Hakka clan is boasting that LKY is a descendent of the Langfang community.

all along Lui Tuck Yew to me can easily co-star with Jim Carrey in "Dumb and Dumber" and probably beat Jim hands down.
now it looks like we have another dumb military man in ChanCS, alias "Kee Chiu" who can fit in nicely to star with Lui in the movie "Dumb and Dumber 2", with Jim Carrey directing from the sidelines.
since the two military men come from the LKY system of selection, the old man himself perhaps can consider bankrolling such a movie before he departs.
Dear bloggers here, When you assess how Chan CS behaves and perform or not perform, remember he is the nephew of LKY and really the next generation PAP-Elite, i.e. in the inner circle of the ruling elite. When LKY and LHL talked about the next generation leader will come from this group, CCS is probably 'The One'. That is why he has no sense of humility about his coat tail entry into politics as he is the destined one, and he has no restrained that he will not be parachuted into further power and authority. Too bad for him the other important elements of being leader seem sorely absent in him and cannot be assume will be there to help him lead. Man proposes God disposes. So we just have to wait and see how he fakes it. Correct that he is a NATO general and needs to TLDM = Talk Less Do More!

You are right, Chan Chun Sing is not a relative of LKY.
But it does appear Chan is closer than that, and why not? since he can pass off as LKY's walking stick and mimic like a parrot.
